I have a Linksys WRT110 router. Although it has some access controls, I find them difficult to use and counterintuitive, and I say this as someone who has been using computers since the days of the TRS-80.
Is there a router out there that will let me limit access times by MAC address of different devices, either by a daily quota or a cutoff time?

After 4 months of smooth sailing, my WiFi has started acting up and (first temperamental page loading; then lock icon disappears when connecting to my secure network; now work computer won't connect at all). Is it my ISP, router, computer, or something else?

Is it okay to have an unsecured wireless network if MAC address filtering is enabled? Could somebody spoof my MAC address without having physical access to my computer?

On my XP system, the recently installed Norton anti-worm app told me that my Netgear RP614v2 NAT-enabled router attempted to udp connect to my port number 2061 from its port 12024. However, there is no port fowarding or triggering enabled, nor is there a DMZ address configured at all.

I have a linksys wireless-G 2.4 ghz router. I use a macbook pro. The set up cd for the router works only on Windows. The router works and i get wireless, but i was unable to set up a security feature. I am guessing anyone in my neighbourhood can use my signal. How can i make this secure if the set up cd with instructions is incompatible with my OS ?

Need nerd help: Is it better to use a software firewall or a router to protect oneself while connected to the internet? Pardon my igorance, but I really am quite stupid.
