I've just returned to college as a mature student and I'm doing really, really well (marks in the low to high 90s, for the most part). I'm proud of myself but I have no idea how to interact with my classmates who aren't doing as well without sounding like a complete jerk. I don't have experience with this! I could use some advice or etiquette. There have been some... incidents. [more inside]

My husband is a 1L at a top-ten school, and we have a 16-month-old daughter. I'm a former librarian staying at home for now, taking a couple of classes in the fall. Finals are next week, and he wants me to take care of our daughter full time or take her away altogether. Is this reasonable? Am I being selfish for asking him to help me out an hour a day? Teacherfilter: Hurrah, another school year is fast approaching and I'm looking for 48-minute or less teambuilding activities I can use with my 8th grade students (all with emotional disabilities). This is my second year working with these scallawags and we have a silly, trusting relationship, but I want to start 8th grade with a bang! I'm looking for fun, in-class group activities that will continue to get them to think outside the box and help each other accomplish a goal. Anyone got any corporate/academic memories that would address this?

Ideas for evidence of my success as new ink! I just successfully completed another huge milestone in my nursing career. This road has been very long and stressful, to date the hardest thing I've ever done. It is also by far the one thing that I cannot get enough of. I love what I do, I love being a nurse and I love learning. I have several tattoos already, but this one is more of a reward and a reminder of my love for nursing and the hard work it took to get here. [more inside]

I want to become a better cook, is chef school the nuclear option? As a child, my mother insisted that I do the eating and not the cooking. Despite her best intentions, I ended up quite clueless on how to cook. In college, I improved by cooking for myself and quite enjoyed it. I just graduated from college and I'd like to pick up a tangible skill on the side and attend chef school. The reason is because I've only been cooking for 2-3 years and would like to improve faster than the oh-just-keep-at-it-and-it-comes-with-age-and-experience rate. [more inside]
