Craigslist scam?

Is this apartment ad on Craigslist a scam? It seems too good to be true of course, and it links to a suspicious-looking URL where they ask that interested people fax them a credit score. [more inside]

Please help me not be an idiot

I have made several purchases from a small on-line company. They have always shipped the order out correctly and on time. I just received and email from them stating that they had a problem with my payment. If they genuinely had a problem, I want to help them fix it. If this is a scam, I don't want to be an idiot. I'm confused by them telling me not to reply to the email, but to send a new one. I would appreciate any help or advice that anyone could give me. [more inside]

How do I make a "mark" understand that they are being scammed?

I have a 60-year-old female friend who is single and spends a lot of time on dating sites. She seems unaware of the risk for fraud and scams. She's fallen into a travel scam with a "man from Louisiana working in Uganda" and just wired $110 to a third party. She's both totally convinced and stubbornly attached to the "relationship." eBayfilter: Dealing with unwanted foreign sellers

I'm new to selling on eBay. I listed a microphone, and only gave an option for U.S. Shipping. I didn't actually list "U.S. buyers only" in the text of the auction. Someone from Brazil asked if he could buy, but without waiting for an answer, he bought it with Buy It Now, and asked for an invoice. I don't want to ship to Brazil, period. So, (a) do I have any recourse, and (b) what can I do so this doesn't happen in the future?

Is Dani Johnson a Scammer?

A friend of a friend has started to shell out money to Dani Johnson. She's only a few hundred dollars in so far and I'm trying my best to find information to dissuade her from getting in any deeper. Google, however, is letting me down - every link I find is basically a scam site of some kind gushing about her. Taken as a whole the result of this search being garbage is damning enough on its own but I'm looking for something more definitive I can bring to her. 500 results in I see a Yahoo Answers question asking the same thing but there isn't a substantial answer there. Hopefully Metafilter knows better. :) Is it a scam? Is it a pyramid scheme? Is there any proof?

Drilling for Dollar$

I'm mid 40s, have had 2 cavities in my life, to date, one in my late teens and another 15 years later. My dentist from childhood retired in 1999. Since then I have consulted a dif't dentist each year, for a total of 7 dental "exams". Each one has alerted me to various work I need done to my teefs, which I declined to have done. None has ever "diagnosed" a problem remotely similar to any of the preceeding dentists. Each has found something new. The science of Dentistry is a profession exactly how? How can I ever find an honest dentist?

BadCetera Experience

Recently, I was shopping at BedCetera.com and ran into some trouble when their website stated shipping time of five days but was then told that things take around a month. Is this a scam to pull people in hoping that they'll pay and then just be bare the extra time? I tried to ask them, but they told me that if I didn't like it to shop elsewhere. If they know of the extra time, shouldn't it be reflected on the website? Is this something that would go to the Better Business Bureau? (I'm in Vancouver Canada) If this issue is justified for a complaint, are there other places that I could warn other consumers. Are there other consumer websites that I could investigate a company before I buy something from them?

due to some reasons the eBay policy automatically proclaims you to be the winner by default !

After bidding on a high-end cell phone on ebay, at a seemingly reputable Ebay store, I soon received several emails, all purporting to be from the seller (but appearing very automated), telling me that I had won the item (still active at Ebay) and to contact them by email to purchase it. Ebay seems to hide the bidder information and email address, so how are they sending me mail, and why from so many different phishers? [more inside]

Scammed by WLI Reservation Rewards

I'm out $120 due to the WLI*ReservationRewards scam.
