My ladyfriend and I are going to San Francisco for a romantic getaway, and I'm trying to find the perfect hotel. Looking for something in the four star range, more or less. I can't seem to find any consistency in the hotel reviews except for the five-star hotels. Any recommendations? Views aren't necessary and I'm flexible with location, but a clean and comfortable (luxurious?) room is a must. Right now I'm looking at the Palace Hotel and the Argonaut, any thoughts on those?
I've never tried to book a hotel room during an event as big as SF pride and I'm having difficulties finding somewhere for 5 or 6 people to stay 45 days in advance. Our fav motel (Becks Motor Lodge) is full for Pride Weekend (June 27th+28th). Most other places seem to be as well. General or SF-specific tips for finding a room for the night would be really helpful. [more inside]

I'm headed to San Francisco for a week at the end of the month. Work will reimburse up to $190 per night for a hotel. I really want to stay downtown for easier access to restaurants, bars and nightlife. I'm fine with driving to and from the worksite. Which hotel(s) would you recommend?

I need a hotel for 2 nights in San Francisco (10/31 & 11/1) next week. I'd like to be in the Fisherman's Wharf or Marina area, but Chinatown/Union Square area is OK if I can't find a hotel in the FW/M area. Ideally I'd like a room for $100 or less. I've checked the main travel sites, but the lists are overwhelming. It'll be 3 ladies, so cleaner, newer is best. I don't mind independent, older hotels as long as they're clean. Any suggestions or recommendations?
I need a bath. What hotels in or around San Francisco have the biggest, comfiest, awesomest bathtubs? [more inside]
