I have just been given a script for Prozac/Fluoxetine 20mg. My doctor gave me a good overview of the process of adjusting to having this in my system. But I am now a little bit apprehensive about starting on them as I have a business trip in 10 days time. On the business trip I will be conducting a training program solo, so I can't really afford to be feeling nauseous, headachy, more anxious etc. These seem to be common initial side-effects.
So my question is, should I wait until after the trip to start taking the pills, due to the initial side effects? Or are they over-stated in your experience?

Looking for experiences with SSRIs prescribed for occasional intense panic attacks and anxiety (some social anxiety too) WITHOUT any pre-existing depression, suicidal, or bipolar symptoms. Xanax hasn't worked well (lowers anxiety but seems to increase irritability). My friend has seen a therapist, who recommended this after several months of sessions, and is going to talk with a doctor about options. He's concerned with doctors' tendency to overprescribe SSRIs and monkeying around with something that's probably not intended for this.

Anecdotal experiences wanted: I am considering trying SSRIs for my anxiety, but I am worried that my already-low libido will disappear altogether. Psychiatrist suggests that the low libido may be caused by anxiety, and so taking SSRIs could actually help. Has either of these things happened to you?

I'm weaning off Lexapro under my doctor's supervision. Because I'm not going to keep bugging my doctor about this (she's on vacation anyway), I figured it'd hit up for guys for some withdrawal symptom advice. I've been having some fun ones, and I want to make sure everything is fine. I'd also like to find out what might help me feel a little bit better.

Should I up my SSRI dose or try a different brand?
I've been taking Fluoxetine 20mg for about sixteen months for my anxiety. It's helped a lot in terms of curbing panic attacks and making me less moody, short-tempered and irritable – a huge plus when you're living with someone. My OCD is also much better than pre-Fluox. CBT has also gone a long way in helping me manage the anxiety.

Why does Wellbutrin cause weight loss? Even my doctor doesn't seem to know for sure. Are there unproven medical hypotheses or studies amongst doctors or pharmacists or anyone else that lean towards an as-yet-unofficial answer? (Feel free to get technical. If I don't understand, I'll Google.)
