Our bedframe is broken beyond repair. Perhaps this would be a good time to get a bed that is larger than a full. Our budget is Ikea level—so I have two questions: 1) Will their queen size beds comfortably support our combined weight of 500-550 lbs? 2) Are there any Ikea beds or mattresses that you particularly like?

My partner uses a
CPAP machine at night, with a stand to elevate the hose, to keep it from getting crushed or tangled. The stand he uses works well—it greatly improves his sleep—but each stand fails at one soldered joint after about a month of use, so he just buys another one each time. We're tired of paying $20 a month for what should be a one time (or at least rare) purchase. Can you help us find a way to reinforce the stand, or a sturdier stand that we'll only need to buy once?

I have recently
lost my health insurance. While it is possible I will be reinstated to
the plan I lost, which is provided in conjunction with my school, I need to be insured again ASAP, and I don't mind the possibility of doubling up on insurance for a short period of time. New Yorkers, do you know of any affordable (<$500 or so per month) plans I might be eligible for? I am a full time college student.

My sister is expecting her first child. On Mothers' Day (which is after the baby will be born), my sister, brother-in-law, and the new baby will be getting together with both of the baby's grandmothers. My school's listings for research positions in medicine-related fields (or even basic science) are really not useful, nor is the pre-med advising office. Where can I find listings for such positions? I just started volunteering at a hospital and got my first ever set of scrubs. The pants have two pockets on the butt, as one would expect, but one of them is
inside the pants, and one of them is outside. I find this arrangement totally fascinating and intriguing. Is there some reason for a pocket inside the backside of scrub pants, or did I just get a weird pair?
