I would like to buy a Pioneer DVD-V7400 Industrial DVD Player, which are going pretty cheap on ebay. However, the ones on ebay don't come with remotes, and buying the remote alone costs 50-60 bucks. So the question is: what are the chances that this player will work with a universal remote? [more inside]

I have a Phillips DVD recorder (DVR75) and recently bought a Phillips DVD player (DVP630) which sits underneath the recorder. However,when I try to turn on the new player using the remote for it, it's turning on the recorder instead. Is there a simple way to fix this?
