Some moons ago I found an online vinyl record store that seemingly had hundreds of thousands of records for sale for dirt cheap. I cannot seem to find this link in my bookmarks nor can I locate via standard Google searches. Since I lost my hidden gem, I was wondering where everybody else purchases their records. Musical tastes are varied, but mostly lay in the rock genre with jazz and classical right behind. Thanks!

I have a TV hooked up to an antenna. I get all the network broadcast channels in HD. Sometimes, I would like to record some shows/sports that I'm not around to watch live. In way olden times I would buy a VCR, hook it up to my TV, set the timer, and everything would be hunky dory. But DVRs have me befuddled. Do you have a recommendation for a DVR without a subscription (what exactly are you subscribing to) that can work with an antenna? [more inside]

What's the easiest way to record a video on a Mac that can easily allow switching -- or even a split screen -- between a webcam and an application (say, Word)? The idea is to be able to record video of the speaker, type or draw notes that can be on the video, and be able to switch focus from the face to the notes or have both on screen at once, like a teacher with a software whiteboard. Most screencasting software only seems to focus on the screen and doesn't allow easy switching back and forth from the webcam.

When I was a kid my parents had a 10 disc (or maybe five disc, 10 sides) album of the Kingston Trio that I'd love to find but I don't know the name of it. I tried to Google it, checked Amazon and iTunes, searched Craigslist, even went through the Spotify Kingston Trio discography and can't find it.
Anyone else know what it was? [more inside]

I have this old record player
. When it reaches the end of an LP record side, the arm returns to play from the beginning. But goes to the wrong spot, as if trying to play a 45, even though the speed is set to LP. Is there something I can adjust to make it start at the beginning?

After experiencing an extremely nasty psychiatrist I just need to get my medical records per the request to my insurance to get partial reimbursement for the claim.

In order to get reimburstment, I was requested by my insurance to provide medical record from my doctor. I'm wondering is there any bad impact in the future to release these confidentical (psychiatric)counselling histrory to insurance company?
They do not always request this. This is the first time. I do not know why they are requesting it this time. I guess maybe because I submitted the claim for several visits all together which is a large bill that they are not willing to pay?
Any my doctor is kind of tight on this saying that he had never done this before and unless I sign a release and come to pick up myself he would not do it.
His emphasis on "comfidencial" made me think about is there any bad impact if I release this to insurance company? Will it be in my public record? will I be quoted higher premium in the future? Will these be recorded as pre-existing conditions?
Does it worth it to give up reimburstment to keep record from insurance?

Our dear friends' 6 year old daughter was murdered on Dec. 14th at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The father is testifying at a public hearing in Connecticut this afternoon. This is the website from which it will be broadcast.
; the event is titled "BI PARTISAN GUN VIOLENCE MENTAL HEALTH WORKING GROUP".
I have been asked to make a recording of this event. I live in Massachusetts and cannot view the event in person nor do I receive this channel on television, so recording it as it streams online is the only route open to me. I have experimented with recording the stream using VLC
with no success thus far. Your help would be greatly appreciated by me and the parents.

What technology and software I should look at inorder to be able to record interviews on Skype on to my hard disk (MacBook Pro) and then be able to manipulate the recording easily in order to type out a transcript? Or, preferably , find reliable speech recognition software that will automatically produce a written transcript I can enter into my word processing program (Open Office.) ? I'm willing to change up software and able to spend no more than $100 to make this work. Is it possible?

Which animal has the hardest eyes? I was thinking about how eyes are pretty soft and it might be advantageous for a creature to have "natural goggles" protecting its squishy eyes. Which animal's eyes have the toughest coating? (I do not care to hear about the protective qualities of retractable eyeLIDs, only the surface which can not be retracted, and which must be seen through.)

I'm in a band, and we're being courted by a fairly senior guy in the music industry. He's suggesting that rather than signing ourselves away to a major, we fund the first 18 months (so album recording, tour, publicity etc) we get funding from venture capitalists. Does anyone have any experience with this, or have any links for further reading on this? The music industry can be an unforgiving environment, and I want to know as much as possible independently to our potential manager...

I can't for the life of me remember the name of a particular megamix/mashup album/artist. I remember that the first track sounded like it started with the helicopter sound from the beginning of one of the 'Another Brick..' tracks from Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', then it either sampled 'Little Fluffy Clouds' or used sampled the same interview. Closer to the end of the album 'Your Song' was mixed in. Any ideas? I believe the artist also had an album featuring mostly Flaming Lips mixes. Both were available free on his website.
