Big fan of the Seven Kingdoms franchise. Not so much because of the combat (which was cool), but because of the economy. Are there any other RTS games out there that have such a diverse economy (non MMO, please, EVE would steal me from my life :D)? Specifically, I liked how you didn't even need raw materials, you could trade for them. Also, since I'm wishing, fantasy or sci-fi only, please. Modern day is just too depressing. Please ask if you need clarification, and thanks!

I'd appreciate some recommendations for PC based strategy games. I've really enjoyed playing Age of Empires and Caesar 3 in the past and was wondering what other newer games I could try, that are along the same lines. I tried the newer releases of the AOE franchise but find that I enjoy games that are set in ancient civilizations more . As far as playing hardware goes, my laptop has 2 GB of RAM and a pretty decent (I think!) video card (ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with 256 MB of video RAM). Thanks!

I'm looking for a battle strategy game in the tradition of the Myth series (or the old-school game "Siege"). I'm looking for an interesting and fun Real Time Strategy game to play. I love the concept, but have never really found one that I enjoy - too much dirt farming or bizarre interfaces or complex strategies that bewilder my Quake-addled brain. [more inside]
