I have a little 11 second video clip (Vanity Clip) that I put on the beginning of all of my videos. I have been using the same clip for 2+ years. I have multiple, multiple, copies of it backed up.
All of a sudden this morning, Premiere is cutting the clip EXACTLY in half horizontally. On the top is just black. Every other clip in the project is fine. [more inside]

I've been tasked with creating YouTube-quality videos using clips generated by the screen capture software applications (Camtasia
and Snapz Pro X
. I have to bring these clips into Adobe Premiere for editing and to add titles and audio. I can't get my head around the various resolutions at play here and how best to match them up, so rather than more rambling narrative let me ask a few direct questions; [more inside]

I have been using Premiere Pro 2, the really ooooold version, but I just upgraded to a new Mac Mini and it isn't compatible with my hardware.
Some dude on Craigslist was going to sell me the full CS6 suite for $30, but after looking at prices from Adobe, I realized it was definitely illegal and probably malware. [more inside]

[Adobe Premiere filter] I have a screencast of a Powerpoint presentation and a webcam video of myself explaining the subject. Using Premiere Pro, I have combined both so that the webcam feed appears as a picture-in-picture in a corner while the presentation runs. However, despite everything looking fine on preview, when I attempt to export the file, the Powerpoint part plays about 10X faster than it should. Help? [more inside]

Are there any Oakland (preferred) or San Francisco (if necessary) bars hosting Mad Men viewing parties tonight? No television here, thought it'd be fun to go out to watch the premiere, but my searches are coming up empty.

Does anybody know what this is
? I'm referring the grey bar above Title 4. It suddenly appeared in our timeline ruler and we can't figure out what it does and how to get rid of it. I've searched through Adobe help and google but nothing seems to refer to it. I only see info about the timeline ruler in general.

I have a camcorder and Adobe Premiere. I'm working on this video project where I want to replace the movement of mouths and change up the dialogue from old movies. Something akin to these etrade commercials
(except, of course, not as technically tight). How can I most ably accomplish this?

I'm looking for a bar, club, or other party place that is showing the LOST premiere on Feb. 2nd in the Bay Area (preferably in San Francisco). I've tried Yelp and SF Station, and have found nothing so far. Is there anywhere else I should look? Anybody know of a bar or other fun public space that will be showing the final season opener? Thanks!

I bought some stock video footage of a dog on a green background which I plan to chroma key out. Then I want to morph seamlessly into a graphic - still with the background masked out! And I want to do this all in Flash! For my Christmas Card! Not a total newbie at all of this - details inside. [more inside]

We have a video project that we have made inside Adobe Premire 1.5. We have tried to burn it to DVD via Premiere, but it kept giving us a record error.
We also have Nero 6, but whenever we select DVD Video and place the avi file into the browser, the record button for burning a DVD is not enabled.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I want to make some movies using photos (jpegs), as a photo montage with mp3s in the background. How should I go about doing this?
1) Should I make Flash movies or actual mpegs (avis? mov. files?) with Premiere? I've tried this in the past with Flash, but no matter the resolution of the original, the movies come out pixellated/with funky color changes. And with Premiere the end movie is waaay
too large, far larger than the sum of the pics and music. And also with the funky color/pixellation.
2) Should I convert the jpegs to bitmaps or some other format before importing? What's a good resolution?

I have a question that relates to the recent announcement about Reason 3. Reason is a intuitive and relatively simple (probably the easiest) software based music program. Is Reason and other programs making music production to easy? Has it been demystified? Coupled with the internet there is certainly a lot of electronic musicians nowadays.
I just have trouble when I think about it because I make music (with Reason) and I'd like to believe it's original and everything, but maybe it isn't.
I have a friend who makes short movies and he says that it has happened to movie making because of Final Cut and Premiere. But I can't imagine this is so because films are (or should be) complex and there are so many things that have to be done right.
Is the musician not special anymore? [more inside]
