I am looking for examples of innovative uses of boring old PowerPoint—beyond the normal title and bullets. I want to create a presentation that...doesnt look like PowerPoint. Are there any places to get ideas?

Is there a way to isolate/extract a .jpg image that has been inserted in the background of a PowerPoint slide? It has not just been placed on the master. Instead somebody did the Format>Background>Fill effects>Picture thing which embeds the image. HELP! [more inside]
