What do I do about the cat poop in my raised beds if I don't want to get rid of the cats? I have a little feral/community cat colony in my (urban) backyard. They have chosen two of my raised beds as their toilet. Now that the snow has melted the smell is kicking in. I don't want to drive the cats away, but I would like my backyard to not smell of sewage and maybe even use those beds for non-edibles. Anyone have ideas? [more inside]
Hi ask.mefi! You are not my doctor but right now my doctor is 3000 miles away and won't be open for another two hours. Ditto with my husbands he office to find out if our insurance will cover a quick walk in visit with someone else. Tue-wed night Typechip (13 months old) had uncomfortable stomach cramps and lots of gas and loose stool - not watery but runny and yellow. We thought it was due to Mac and cheese made with milk since he reacts badly to milk (but not cheese or yogurt) and cleaned him up and moved on. He's had loose-ish stool since but no cramps or epic gas. This morning though another really messy diaper with lots of sticky liquidy yellow brown poo. However he's eating well, happy and playful and chattering and has no fever or anything like that. I plan to call is doctor once they open but in the meantime what can I do for the little guy?
This is a 100% serious question. I pooped a dead bug. Little, tiny wings, maybe sort of mosquito-looking. It was definitely my poop on the sort of outside of a piece of poo. Just one bug, just one tiny poop - I was constipated. What does this mean? How did it get in there? Should I do anything about it?
New physician could be too quick to pull out the antibiotics...or I might be the unreasonable one. Help me decide. Warning: frank discussion of possible dysentery inside. [more inside]
How should I prepare for an appointment that will address stomach/digestion issues? Do I eat tons of stuff I know makes me feel horrible just so my doctor can see all the symptoms in action or do I keep eating like I do now, which is avoiding what I know makes me feel bad? [more inside]
When I picked up my mail this morning I found this next to my mailbox. Are these entrails on my porch? [more inside]
I have an important human Kinesiology question: are there different muscles for farting and pooping? Specifically, when one has a fart feeling that might be a poop, it feels as though one has the control to selectively let out the potential fart but not the potential poop. Is this a dangerous delusion? Is it really just a "let it all out" switch?

~1 year old Labradoodle name of Twist. Good boy. Crate trained up to this point, house trained so long as we lock him in his crate overnight. Which is the issue. I'd like to start weaning him off of the crate. He seems ready, he has no trouble holding it all night in the crate and it's not like he's rushing for the door in the morning; he'll happily romp around the house while we're getting breakfast etc together. But when I've tried leaving the crate door open overnight he, well, chooses not to wait until morning. Looking for strategies to let him know that that's not okay. [more inside]
I need help identifying these gross things that have appeared on my garage walls in the last week or so. They are grayish-brown, each about the size of a piece of orzo, and are stuck to the walls in my garage. I can spot about a dozen of them around the garage, but I don't know how many more might be hidden behind boxes, etc. I suspect it is some sort of poop or some sort of egg sac, both things that completely gross me out. The shape is pretty unique to all of them. I live in Southern California, with temps over the last few months ranging between 55 and 85F. Anyone have an idea what these might be? Pic inside. After my baby poops in the diaper I throw it in the trash but the whole room smells of poop and the whole house to until I take out the trash once or twice a week. I need a better system, is there some special bag or trash can that can stop smells from coming thru? Or can I spray the poop with something that will stop it from smelling? Taking the diaper outside to the main trashcan multiple times a day is not a option.
My partner and I want a cat. I'd like it to be an indoor/outdoor cat, because I CANNOT DEAL with litterboxes. Partner says we'd probably need a litterbox anyway, for when the weather's bad. Is that true? If you have a cat and no litterbox, please tell me how it works at your house. [more inside]

I, female age 35, cannot poop when others are in the house or when other people are in a public bathroom. (And I loathe even going in a public bathroom.) This means that when there are houseguests, I end up constipated. I have recently been in travel situations with one other person and I end up spending the whole trip constipated. It is even worse with a newer dating partner. What can I do to relax and poop? [more inside]
Heya, people. I live in an apartment in a rural area and I have a question about what appears to be giant mouse poop, but perhaps the reality is truly more monstrous. My cat is alert and caught a couple of mice in the past and I assumed that he had it under control. However, this showed up in his bowl today, and I'm wondering WTF kind of animal left this. I found something similar earlier this year, and it felt like mud and smelled like mud, so I dismissed it as a fluke....now I ask: what the f kind of animal could this be from? I don't want to utter the R-word, but brutal honesty and trapping techniques welcome.
I want to poop better. I poop frequently enough, but I rarely get the super-satisfying, perfect, long, clean-wipe poop that I deserve. I need reliable information on how to do this. What diet should I have? What should I eat more/less of? What supplements would help? Thanks!

Sorry for the squick factor but I'm curious. What happens if someone bleeds, vomits or poops in a public swimming pool? Do they just fish out the solids and let the rest disperse? Or does it all get emptied out?
