I remember seeing a really cool Photoshop project a while ago that took pictures of street scenes, removed all the text from the image, then created a second image consisting only of the removed text, with font and placement preserved. Who did it and where can I find it?

What are some pictures/paintings of groups of people that are instantly recognizable? I'm thinking along the line's of da Vinci's "The Last Supper" and would lend itself to having photographs (probably poorly) photoshopped over the faces for a friend's going-away gift? [more inside]

I'd like to make op-art style backgrounds for posters. I've been doing it with french curves by hand, but I'd like to use a computer to cut down the amount of time it requires (and the steady hand— curse you, strong drink!). [more inside]

Art Theory Question: If somebody electronically adds an artwork into another virtual canvas (ex: a Moleskine page scan ), can he rightfully call it "Moleskine Art"?. Same goes for Photoshopped art on a quilt, graffiti on a blank wall, et c. Is it unethical for an artist to suggest that a work was done manually when it has been manipulated electronically? Your opinions or links to pertinent discussions elsewhere is much appreciated.

I'm a Photoshop wiz interested in trying my hand at some vector-based illustration for a change. Which program is best? Is there a free/OSS option that can compete with Illustrator/Painter/FreeHand? And how much of a head-start will my Photoshop knowledge get me in Illustrator vs. anything else?
