My mom has mentioned wanting new photo portraits of me, my brother, and our dogs (her grand-dogs)--I know, kinda corny. But we thought that this would be a good idea for a Christmas present, so we went to the park over Thanksgiving and did a little photo shoot. What's the best way to get good quality prints of our digital pictures? [more inside]

I just got a diana f+ camera. I have shoten? shot, 3 rolls of film and none of them have turned out well. All of the images are extremely blurry. We have tried out the fish eye, the telephoto and the wide angle lenses as well as the color gels and the long exposures. So far only the long exposures seem to be turning out at all. None of the other pics display the attributes of the accessories used. There are no color changes or changes in the clarity. SO my question is...what am I doing wrong? [more inside]

I'm interested in printing a few of my wife's digital photographs as a gift to her. I don't know a thing about photography (my wife is the expert), so I'm looking for some advice. Here's some details: I have the original hi-res versions (she uses a Nikon D70, so I think the files are large jpegs). I'm interested in pretty large prints - probably around 24" x 18". I'm not too concerned about cost - my priorities are the highest possible quality, and longevity. Ideally, I'd love to use someone local (Boston, MA). Can anyone recommend a printer? What specifically should I ask for? (Types of printing, types of paper, etc.). Many thanks in advance!

I'm looking for professional digital printing services in Beijing similar to this one in Shanghai. I've used the Shanghai service several times for very large prints including gallery mounting and I need a comparable service in Beijing. It's important that the technician speak at least moderate english and that they have a good selection of professional papers and inks. FWIW, I've spoken quickly to a couple of shops at Wukesong in Beijing and haven't been impressed yet.

I have: A great camera (Nikon D700), a great printer (Epson 3800), a good eye for urban travel photos (a recent local gallery showing). I don't have: A decent website or any pictures on Flickr, a photography network of any kind. My objective is to supplement my current income with income from photography. What's my next step?

Which is the best online photo printing service? This was asked two years ago, but things may have changed. My priorities would be: archival quality prints; good service; and reasonable prices, in that order. Most ideal would be a Canadian service, but a second choice would be a U.S. service that mentions that they ship to Canada with reasonable fees.

In regards to design and press printing. Towards the bottom of this Paper Specs article it touches on an overprint varnishing technique called "dot-on-dot varnishing." A number of online photo printing services have been mentioned here on AskMeFi, but a search hasn't revealed one that will print to my liking. I'm looking for a top notch black and white print with archival borders - 8x10 image on 11x14 paper. I'm working with high quality scans of black and white negatives. Suggestions?

I have 500+ digital pictures from our wedding/honeymoon. I want to have them printed, and I don't have a photo printer. What are your experiences with the online photo printer places - shutterfly, ofoto, etc.? Would I be better off just buying a photo printer? Mostly I just want basic 4x6 prints to put in a book; a few I want to have blown up.
