Are there cheap alternatives for the large and elaborate "dry boxes" I see listed for use as dehumidified storage cabinets for lenses and other camera gear?
I've built up a little collection, live where the summer humidity is often high, and do not run my AC 24/7.
My first thought is that this is basically an airtight box with a bunch of dessicant inside. Can't really be that simple, though.

What's your favorite Nikon-compatible macro lens? I'm completely new to macro photography (and still pretty new to photography in general, having purchased my first DSLR a little over a year ago), and I'm leaning towards the Nikon 60mm f/2.8D AF, largely because of the price differential between this and some of the other Nikkor macros. Anyone have any great experience with some of the makeshift macro lenses (using extension tubes, reversing rings, etc)?

I have an old Nikon N6006 film SLR. I am interested in buying a Nikon D70 digital SLR and would like to know if my old lenses will be compatible. I don't know much about what types of Nikon lenses are out there, but the ones I have are autofocus and work with my N6006. How can I tell if they will work with the D70?

For an amateur photographer who is interested in documentary style photography, what are some "must have" lenses? I've got a tamron 28-105mm fixed 2.8 which rocks the masses. I'm looking to add one or two more lenses in the next year.

Besides B&H, are there any reputable websites that have a good-sized inventory of gray market photography equipment? Specifically fixed focal length lenses (e.g. 24mm/50mm).

i have a pentax ME super and about a dozen lenses for it. however, it has the defective gasket. since most of the ME supers around have the defective gasket, i'd rather replace it with a fully manual SLR that does not run the risk of a defective part.
i know that sears sold a SLR that fit the same lenses, but i'm having trouble tracking down the name, body style, &c. anyone know? or have suggestions of another camera which will take my lenses? or know a good used camera dealer in or around chicago, illinois?
