I'm compiling a set of 30-40 photographs related to any and all aspects of disease for a high school visual literacy project. The students are high school juniors who are struggling with literacy and writing. I'd love your suggestions for compelling, diverse, and striking images and sites that have collections of same. What are the best searchable sources for copyright-free historical and other images? I know about Wikimedia Commons, about searching for Creative Commons licensed material on Flickr, and about some regional repositories such as the Washington State Digital Archives (where I work). What other good sources are out there? Google searches lead me to subscription databases of stock photos.

As a photographer with particular interest in 'stitcher' type panoramic images I was interested in the hardware and software that Google have used for their street scene application. Does anyone have any info? What type of camera and lens combo and specialist software, even if it was written just for Google.

I am a photographer. My photographs are currently on a website that I used to work with but have since had a disagreement. I own the copyright to my images and would like the website to remove them. They are being very slow in their response as removing the images will create very negative publicity for them. I have maintained their website for the last 4 years and have full admin access to their dedicated server. If I log in and remove my images, could I be accused of misuse of computers? [more inside]

Digital fullfilment/Photography Question:

My sister's wedding had a large number of photographs taken by their friend who's a professional photographer, on his high end nikon Digital. He gave them the photos as a wedding gift, and they want people to be able to order prints on demand online.

however, they wanted to see if it were possible to tack on a small fee per photo and have the profit go to their friend.

1. What are some good print on demand sites (ofoto, etc?)
2. Do any of them allow this kind of thing?

Thanks in advance.

Digital cameras do tons of photo manipulation in-camera, before you ever upload it. Knowing this, I'd like to configure my camera to do as much in-camera as possible, so that I don't have to spend as much time photoshopping (contrast, sharpening, etc.) afterward. Any recommendations on settings I could use, or resources that would help me determine what settings make for the "best" photos? (I have a Nikon CP4500, if it helps.)
