I work at home and, since I moved from NYC to the West Coast, I've simply had Verizon remote-call-forward my number to make the move as seamless as possible.
The problem is the cost, around $70.00 per month.
Does anyone know of a less expensive way to remote-call-forward? Thanks in advance!

What's up with 774-8283? This appears to be a spoofed phone number calling to harass people at random. How are they doing this, and what can be done about it? Question about American phone calls, probably won't apply internationally. [more inside]

I'm looking for a way for a dozen people to call the same phone number at the same time and get the same message, which I have as an mp3 or wav file. [more inside]

My new apartment's buzzer works by dialing a phone number. My girlfriend and I both live in the apartment. We each have cell phones, no land line, and the buzzer will only accept one number. What should we do? [more inside]

Trying not to be neurotic...I think my guy hung up on me, but maybe it was just a dropped call? Google won't help me distinguish between the two, although it seems obvious to me. The obvious being that he hung up on me. [more inside]

I'm aware this might be really obvious, but I need a quick answer - why are my gmail messages suddenly also coming to me in text messages on my cell? [more inside]

I'm in NYC next week and flying out of JFK right after I finish a conference call. I'm wondering about someplace at or near JFK that I might be able to take the call in relative peace and quiet. [more inside]

Bzzzzz. You know those Radio Shack devices for recording phone calls? When I hook one up to a tape recorder, it works fine. But it's the damndest thing: hooked up to my computer, it buzzes. Is this an electric grounding issue, or is there something I'm doing wrong?
