My girlfriend and I are spending Valentine's Day weekend in Philly. What are some good places to check out that's fairly cheap? More details below. [more inside]
I'll be going to Philadelphia at the end of this month for a very short, 2-day business trip and I'm leaving a day early specifically so I can visit the Barnes Foundation. I have some specific questions about the museum and other general questions about things to do on a short stay in Downtown Philly. [more inside]

So, I use a wheelchair. I need to find an accessible place, near accessible transportation, that is ideally near the Community College of Philadelphia. I would like to avoid being shot in the brain, but drug users and prostitution don't frighten me. So any ideas as to where I should go in North Philly?

I need a new mechanic (chain I was going to is exhorting customers). I'm looking for something within a mile of 45th and Baltimore (ish). My car is ~5 years old and shouldn't be having problems (I was quoted for over $1000 in work for parts that are supposed to last another 30-50,000 miles). I'm hoping to find someone good, with reasonable rates, who is trustworthy.

My partner becomes motion sick shortly after getting on the trolley. She feels very nauseated within a couple of minutes. The trolley tends to accelerate and decelerate rapidly at each stop, and when the trolley is underground the ride can be fairly bumpy. Is there anything she can do to prevent or treat this, ideally without having to take medication? [more inside]
I have two kids (5 & 8) who are very excited about Halloween, but we are going to need to spend the evening of the 31st driving fro Philadelphia to Boston. I would like to stop at a couple of places on the way for them to do some Trick-or-Treating (yes, they will be in costume in the car - sorceress and cobra). So, I would love suggestions for some neighborhoods/streets that would be good places to trick or treat. Ideally in CT off of the Hutchinson River Parkway, Merritt Parkway, or I-84; or else off of the MassPike. [more inside]
My friend's son (8yo) was in a serious accident last weekend and sustained injury to the right side of his brain stem, resulting in extremely limited mobility on his left side. He's in the trauma unit at CHOP, but they will be moving him to an inpatient rehab facility in the next few days and the parents are looking for a comparison of two possible facilities. [more inside]
Philadelphians: Are AIMCO-owned apartment complexes like The Sterling, Park Towne Place, and the Riverloft reliable places to live? Their location's hard to beat and they offer excellent amenities. They're poorly-reviewed on sites like Yelp and Google, but the things the reviewers complain about often strike me as trivial. How can I figure out if these places offer what I'm looking for? (Bonus points: have any of you lived in any of these locations yourselves?) [more inside]
Philadelphians past and present: What is the normal way for going about finding an apartment in your city? In New York, we would either use Craigslist or pay a broker 10-15% of the yearly rent to find us an apartment (that usually wasn't posted on Craigslist). [more inside]
Help me find someone to figure out what's wrong with my knee in Phila, PA area. NOW. [more inside]
My fiance and I are getting married in Center City Philadelphia in March. We'll be staying at the Sheraton Downtown, about a mile from our venue (The College of Physicians) and are interested in picking a few quintessential, fun, beautiful Philadelphia spots for our first look and other pictures, assuming the weather cooperates. We've thought about Love Park, City Hall, Logan Circle, the Franklin Institute and the Art Museum, but are looking for more suggestions and information about policies and permitting. Also personal experience would be great! [more inside]

On Thanksgiving Wednesday, we'll arrive at the Philadelphia airport, probably at terminal F (US Airways) at 8:15 in the morning. We leave 80 minutes later, probably from terminal B (US Airways, again). No checked luggage, pre-cleared for customs, just pick up bags and run. Given Thanksgiving craziness and picking up the shuttle to C-16 so we stay inside security, is this still doable? When does it become Thanksgiving hectic? [more inside]
I'm going into my last year of nurse practitioner school and am starting clinicals at the end of August. Back in June I found two clinical sites, both family practice. A couple days ago I was told that one of the sites wouldn't be able to host me after all. [more inside]

I need to go to the Philadelphia Passport Agency on Friday morning. The state dept website assures me there are several pay parking lots in the vicinity. But I'd prefer more concrete directions, as I'm driving in from 3 hrs away for an 8am appointment. Can anyone give me recommendations and addresses of lots or garages that are very likely to be open that are nearby? Where I can park all day? The address is 200 Chestnut St. [more inside]

Trying to book a group shave/trim for a bearded wedding party this Sunday in Philadelphia. The only place that appears to be open that day is Art of Shaving and they're booked for the time we need. Any recommendations on places to try? We've researched so far and can't find anything open then. If there are any salons that do this service as well we'd be interested although hoping to keep it less than 50-60 a person. Thanks!
I'm bringing a car to Omaha in very late June, early July. Dates are flexible. We're planning to take 2-3 days of driving split between two people. What are the best routes in terms of scenery and attractions to do overnight along the way? We are staying for about a week and flying back one-way to PHL. Ideas for what to do in Omaha are also needed. At least some of the activities in or around Omaha should be suitable for people under 21, although they don't all have to be. Museums, parks, sciency stuff, and hotel and restaurant recommendations all welcome. Assume an upper limit of $200 per person per day for 2-3 people, although this is fairly flexible both directions.

Fiance and I are attempting to plan a wedding for less than 150 guests in early March 2015 in the Philadelphia area. We currently live in Montgomery county, but we are open to considering locations in the 5 county area (and are learning toward Philadelphia, which will make things easier on our out of town guests). We want to keep the venue/catering/booze costs around $15,000 if possible, which seemed super easy before we started searching. Help! [more inside]

I'll do anything as long as it is related to the theater and in the company of other theater folks. THE BIG CHALLENGE: I'm a wheelchair user. What is the best way to approach this looking-for-volunteer work situation?
My GF is running her first-ever marathon next weekend in Philadelphia. I'm looking for creative or interesting suggestions for either a gift or something I can do that she might like (beyond flowers at the finish and a massage, both of which are a done deal). Any runners out there have a specific suggestion--maybe something sweet or thoughtful that was done for you after you finished? Thanks!
I'm planning a road trip from Philadelphia to Toronto in October. I'm thinking of breaking up the trip by staying a night somewhere in between. Somewhere with a cute hotel, a nice breakfast and somewhere to wander around before taking off the next day. Just by google mapping it, I'm thinking Ithica, but id be welcome to other suggestions. Secondary question: are there any great hidden food spots to catch on the way? Thanks!
