My brother just moved from the UK to Perth, WA, and I'm planning to buy him a birthday present in the form of a voucher for something he can do out there. What would you recommend? [more inside]

I'm looking for annual community bike rides around the world, particularly where there's a big participation or closing of regular streets.
As an example, I've done
Chicago's Bike the Drive
and just found out about Perth's Freeway Bike Hike
. Are you aware of anything else that's similar? [more inside]

I'm going to Western Australia and am trying to decide whether to find a hotel in Perth, or in nearby Fremantle. I want to be close to the best restaurants and sightseeing spots and am looking for an area with some charm and character. Which is the better place to stay? Any tips on cool places to see, eat, etc.?

I'm under the impression that computer hardware is quite cheap in Asia compared to here in Australia. My question is: are there any good online retailers, who are based online, based in Asia, willing to ship to Australia and accepts Paypal? Good prices a must!

Perth (Australia) Filter: Anyone know where I can purchase a perspex/lucite/acrylic, clear, lockable donation box in the Perth metro area? Size would be suitable for putting on a small table. Would need to accept notes as well as coins. I only want one.
