New email, online checking account, paypal and ebay accounts all linked together in a closed loop. Am I being smart, too paranoid, or setting myself up for problems later? [more inside]
Is there any problem setting up a Paypal account when you live in one country, but the credit card you want to link is from another country? In my case, I live in [European Country] and my credit card is from my bank in the US, my native country. If you've done this in the last couple of years*, can you help advise me? [more inside]
My friends and I are planning a holiday in Paris this summer. We've been looking for places on AirBnB, and found one that looked like it might suit. My friend created an AirBnB account, and submitted a booking request. Unfortunately the host refused; fair enough. But a day later, the money's still showing up as 'reserved' on my friend's bank account. Is this normal? [more inside]

I have a project with a modest ($1K) one-time fundraising goal and a long time (six months) to meet that goal. I'd like to find a website/service for people to contribute as easily as possible in a variety of methods and I'd love people's experiences of simple ways to do this. [more inside]

I bought a $70 camera located in Ukraine on Ebay; the listing showed that you could pay with PayPal. PayPal says people in Ukraine can't receive payments from PayPal. I was relying on the protection of PayPal to make sure I actually get the camera (or my money back). Is there some safe way to send money to Ukraine that doesn't reveal my payment information & gives me protection if I don't receive the item?
I'm researching how to easily offer recurring payments/subscriptions on services I provide (software support). Thought I'd just use PayPal, but dragons seem to be just below the surface. Help! [more inside]

I'm visiting Copenhagen in a couple months and found someone on the Lonely Planet forums looking for extra people to round out his reservation at noma for the exact time I'll be there. I jumped at this chance, as reservations are very difficult to come by and I'll probably only be in Copenhagen once in my life. [more inside]

How would one best go about using PayPal for donations to a union local that is currently on strike in Canada? This workflow would be set up by a group that are not members of the local, but other workers at the same site. I see in the "service requiring pre-approval" section of their AUP that collecting donations as a nonprofit requires one to go through compliance, but it doesn't say anything about collecting donations for a nonprofit. This doesn't really fall into the PayPal political fundraising realm either. Can someone who has experience in PayPal fundraising shed some light on dos and don'ts, as we don't want funds to get frozen? Big thanks in advance.
A few months back a client made a payment to me via paypal. She then started a dispute saying she hadn't received it (it had gone into her spam)... [more inside]
My fiance sold and shipped some very expensive, heavy, one-of-a-kind electronics to an online friend overseas. They were damaged during international shipping. The purchase price was over a thousand dollars and the items are literally irreplaceable. Who is legally liable here? What are the ethics? We *cannot* afford to reimburse this expense. [more inside]
I have a close friend (in Mexico) who bought a second-hand guitar from me. We are trying to figure out a good way for her to make payments to me (in the US). Paypal seems convenient. Western Union does this sort of thing, I think. Has anyone done the research to let us know how to do this with the least transaction fees/overhead? Maybe bank-to-bank transfer or something? I am in a financial position as a volunteer for a group, and I cannot figure out how to do a couple parts of my job. One of them is super important (collecting dues) and time sensitive, but I can't start doing it until I figure out two things: PayPal, and Yahoo Sites. [more inside]
A client located in the Caribbean wants to pay me via PayPal ; I am in Canada. I don't have a PayPal account, and I'm not sure how it all works. They will pay me in USD, which is great. I have a US dollar account at a major Canadian bank. How do I get the PayPal payment into my USD account? Any help would be appreciated, especially from those who have a Cdn bank account.
When I try to go anywhere on the Paypal website, it displays the Kijiji homepage instead (or a security certificate warning). I noticed this when attempting to pay for something on eBay. Is this a problem other people are experiencing or just with my computer? If it is just my computer, WTF is happening? [more inside]
About a year ago, someone signed up for a Paypal account, using my email@example.com email address. I ignored the activation email, but somehow that has not kept me from continuing to receive account updates, receipts, etc. Hope me get the person to change the email associated with the account to one that person owns; and by extension, allow me to claim the Paypal account associated with my email. My new boss apparently prefers to use more convenient and/or flexible methods to pay me, an independent contractor (web dev). He suggested I invoice him through PayPal the first time he paid me. I have a general dislike of PayPal, and I like automation, so I'm trying to decide on a payment processor or other method of billing that can take the same money sources as PayPal. [more inside]
Someone hacked a PayPal account to buy an item from me on eBay (my old iPad). PayPal resolved the claim in our favor and we both got our money back, but now I want to go after this derelict. I want justice! For me, for the person that owns the PayPal account (who I talked to and she's very nice), and for anyone he might rip off in the future. [more inside]
About 3 weeks ago, I purchased a watch from a seller located in Japan. I made my purchase through Rakuten's Global Marketplace, which sells to foreign, overseas buyers (I live in Canada). I used Paypal to pay. The watch cost CAN$283, and it was shipped using Japan Post EMS. [more inside]
After a five-year hiatus, I'm resurrectting my website (I make one-of-a-kind toys). I went to paypal to update my Add to Cart buttons and hit a wall. In the old days, I could change a couple variables (toy name and price) in the code - super easy. Five years later, it seems I can't do that anymore. This seems like a crazy reversal in functionality. Can you help? [more inside]

A year and three months ago I registered on extabit.com. And I got a month service and I paid for it. I just realized they have been charging me on my paypal account monthly since then. But autopayment did not go through. So I owe them about 200 dollars now. I have never used the account after the first month. Do I have to pay for it? I want to complaint but I don't know how to reach to them either. Thank you guys so much!
I have a small freelance business, and for convenience's sake many of my clients choose to pay me via PayPal. What are the best practices I can implement to reduce the fees I pay? Or just general best practices where this is concerned? Or...other ways to accept payments? [more inside]
I recently took on a role as club treasurer for a local chapter of a 501(c)3. I'm preparing to collect membership dues and was told that previous treasurers have accepted membership fees through a personal PayPal account which they then transferred to the club bank account, from which they then paid the membership dues to the parent organization. The personal PayPal account is to avoid the hassle and possible fees of setting up a Paypal account for our chapter. My gut feeling is that accepting membership dues through a personal account is potentially problematic. Is it, and if so, why? References are appreciated, as I may have to argue my case.
I'm running an event and have been using PayPal for a lot of payment processing for exhibitor booths, workshop fees, and assorted other items of varying amounts. Most items are invoiced, but we have a number that people purchased through PayPal buttons for specific items. I can't seem to find a way to easily download just a list of particular items that were purchased that includes the customers name. Am I missing something? Please let me know.

I'm trying to change my PayPal password. Normally I would copy-paste the new password in from KeepPass (or gedit), but PayPal disables copy-paste. That means I need to accurately type in a bunch of fiddly deliberately-hard-to-memorize characters, which only show up as asterisks, TWICE. Which apparently I am incapable of doing, whereupon PayPal kicks me out for two hours before letting me try again. Please help me figure out a workaround to solve this stupid problem. [more inside]

I currently have a PayPal Premier account I use for payments to my business (which is permitted under their terms and conditions). But it has a limit on funds that can be received, so I will need to "upgrade" to a business account. Has anyone done this and are you able to tell me what, in essence, happened to the fees? I have calculated that at the moment, they apply fees of c. 5% on average, so I add a percentage to my clients' invoices (with their permission) to share the loss incurred. But it's not clear at all from the various fees and charges in PayPal's tables what actually happens to the average fees. Surely someone on the Green has been through this and can share their experiences (feel free to memail me if you want to keep it private). [more inside]
