For years, I've accepted as fact that Russian-language PDFs don't play nice with other programs. That if you tried to paste copied text into Word or Notepad, you'd get gibberish characters. (I work on two laptops, one with Windows Vista and Acrobat, the other Windows 7 and Reader.) Are there any clever workarounds or programs I should know about?

Seeking Adobe Acrobat replacement for Mac OS X. I have Acrobat 8 Standard for Windows, which has served me well. But Adobe only offers their "Pro" version for Mac, which costs way more than I want to spend ($450), and it's also more than I need. So I'm looking for an alternative; free is great, but willing to pay for a solid software package. Intuitive and easy-to-use is a big plus. List of features I tend to rely on most in the "More Inside" section.

I filled out a PDF form last night in Google Chrome and saved the PDF. Then I emailed it to someone important. This morning they told me they had received a blank form (!). I opened the attachment and yes, it's blank. *@#$&@!

Can anyone recommend a plug-in that allows adobe acrobat to sort pages by page number? I inserted page numbers into a document; extracted certain pages into separate files, and then combined them again; the page numbers were off as a result (and there are some dupes). I'd like to make them resort by page number. Any ideas?

I have a PDF form that I modified from an existing PDF form, adding a new page and a few new fields. The new fields I added are visible on the screen but not visible when I print the form.
Other parts of the form work fine, it is only 4 text fields I added. Other checkboxes work and show up fine.
I am fairly inexperienced with editing PDFs and using LiveCycle Designer (I have version 7) and can't figure out what the heck I'm missing and I can't extract anything from the help guide.

How can I convert a Word document to a pdf while keeping the margins the same width? We are working on a 5 MB Word document, created with Word 2003 on a PC running Windows XP. The margins must be 1 inch wide. When we convert it to pdf, the right hand margin becomes 1.25 inches wide, and random phrases become boldface. We've tried Acrobat 8 and a freeware converter (dopdf).

I need to make a small change (tel #) to a PDF brochure I had done recently. The problem is that I don't have the original file the brochure was created from and won't be able to get it for at least three weeks. I often buy vector pack cds that come with vast amounts of eps/ai files but there is almost always a single .pdf file that has a catalog of all the files in one for easy browsing.
