Can you help me decide between PDA's, Smartphones, Pocket PCs and the year 2008? I am looking most specifically for info on the Sony Clie PEG NX70V ... IPAQ 4350 ... and IPAQ 2215. But advice on any of this would be immensely helpful! I did search AskMeFi, but found only info for new equipment or old posts. I'm talking used equipment instead, older but able to keep up with current software stuff. (More inside) [more inside]

I really like CMS systems such as Joomla and DotNetNuke that allow me to host information I want to access remotely (blog posts, news, serial numbers, etc...). However, since I have my PDA with me all the time and not my notebook, I would really like to use a CMS that I can access via my PDA. My screen size is 320x240 pixels. Most of the CMS systems I have ever seen don't translate well to a PDA screen. Are there any out there that do? I am looking for a system that I can host on my own servers. Thanks!

I realize that there have been variations on the "best PDA" theme before, but hopefully others will find this question (and it's answers) usefull: My wife wants a PDA for all the basic PIM functions, but also to occasionally browse the web via wifi (it's a lot easier to hold out of reach of our 1-year old son than her 20lb. Dell laptop). Do I have to plunk down $299 for a Palm Tx, or are there more affordable options? Do you have a favorite PDA (we're not wedded to any particular OS) that may not have built-in wifi, but can accept a wifi expansion card, perhaps coming out cheaper even with the xtra $$ for the wifi card? Obviously, a used one would be cheaper still - are there any 2003-4 models you would recommend for this purpose?

I really want a new PDA and am considering the Dell Axim X50v, but I've heard that Windows Mobile 2005 is due to be released "soon." Considering that I'm going to plunk down $500+, should I wait? Big questions is, how long will I have to wait to buy a PDA using the new OS? I really want WiFi and don't want to buy a card for my HP Jornada 568.

PDA recommendations:
Needs: Must have CF slot, 802.11b.
Wants: External GPS unit which will work with both my laptop & the PDA
Budget: 399$ or less, not including GPS/additional memory. Must come with standard accessories - cradle, cable, charger, etc.
Etc: Add-on software for viewing PDFs, Word/Excel files, map software.
