My kid wants me to install a bunch of mods to minecraft, I'm confused about the process. Installing mods seems much different then say on Steam games where its integrated into the application. I'm uncomfortable just following sketchy links on message boards to download and install jars/executables, but thats the process as I've seen it described. Is there a more obvious way to do this?

I used to play a FPS on my PC back in the 90's. I can't remember the title of it, however I remember one of the weapons.

In the 90's I borrowed a demo-CD from a friend, who had a car combat-like game, where you drove around in a futuristic environment. The game was a demo, so it only had one level and only one car. The only mission that was available was where one had to collect two pieces of a device located in two different parts of the map. Most of the stuff was blue.

I don't get PC game requirements; I seem to have a mental block on the issue, and I don't think I'm going to get it. I've never had one of those fancy "video card" things. HL2 and Portal work great on my laptop, Bio-shock is sluggish to the point where its playable but I won't bother. What games that were state-of-the-art at the time, but are now older, can I play?

Anyone have a recommendation for a driving videogame with a mode where you can just drive around aimlessly? No objectives, checkpoints, cops, chases, races, don't have to kill anyone or anything, etc.

The details are sketchy, but I remember playing a fantastic platformer in which the player controlled a rabbit. Before you say it, I'm pretty damned confident it wasn't from the Jazz Jackrabbit series, nor was it Toxic Bunny.

I seem to remember an old game possibly on the C64, but more likely on the PC. The premise of the game was to drive around in a drilling unit and drill for diamonds (I think). The more you collected in a specific time, the more you won.

I have very fond memories of playing a graphically-simple game in the late eighties or possibly early nineties. It was set in the future, in a plague-ridde, post-apocalyptic America. You were a gang leader, and your job was to assemble gang members, vehicles and guns and essentially deliver America from ruin.
