I'm 27 and would like to become a physician's assistant (PA), but don't have any background in medicine, a prerequisite for nearly every PA program. Should I go through a phlebotomy program? Are there phlebotomy jobs out there? Would this be a good way to get working hours as a medical professional?

We are trying out a virtual assistant service which uses remote human personal assistants based in the US that are communicated with through email and an app. The model is that you buy a month's package of requests that you can make (e.g. 15 task requests, with each task not meant to take more than 20 minutes). It can be a bit difficult to think up tasks for the assistants to do, especially if you only want to make requests for tasks that will save you a big amount of time (rather than tasks - make a restaurant booking etc.- which you could do yourself in just a little more time than it takes to make a request). What are your tips for using this kind of service most effectively? What kinds of task requests are most "bang for your buck" , bearing in mind the limit of a standard month's package of 15 tasks? Thanks!

I was talking with one of my student employees the other day and it turns out he's a member of one of the college's acapella groups. We thought it would be pretty cool for his group to record a song to be played before the library closes for the night. I can make this happen. What song(s) should they sing?

I am 35, my husband is 44. I have always struggled with my career, and recently quit my job and entered a sonography program. Just before entering the program I am in, I also applied to PA school. I have been offered a place in PA school, and I do not know what to do. Lately my biology has caught up with me (baby. now.) and I do not want to put off baby much longer (we could start trying to conceive in exactly one year if I stay and complete the sonography course-I am in the second quarter of a two year course). If I switch to PA, (program is also two years but does not start until 7 months from now) it means either having a baby during my clinical year and going straight back to rotations (ouch) or putting baby off for TWO more years...also ouch. It is worth noting that I do not think that I am strong enough/career motivated enough to leave my baby for 12-14 hours per day, which is why either way, I would like to have the baby at the end of either program, so that I can stay home for a few months before starting my first job. Please see more inside.

Last minute long weekend holiday getaway, Doable? Advice needed on taking a belated Valentines long weekend with my sweetie. We're in NYC and would prefer to drive. (Or take a train if the place is really acessable). A very nice hotel in the country would be great, we don't need a bunch of outside entertainment - beautiful scenery a plus. We're looking to leave late Thursday or early Friday and return early/mid-Monday.

I need a recommendation for a real estate lawyer in the Easton, PA area. I'm the buyer. It's a short sale and I'd like to find a lawyer with some experience. I don't want to pick someone out of the phone book. Ideally you have actually worked with the attorney but any reliable advice would be appreciated. Responding here is best but MeFi mail is good too. Help? Thanks in advance!

My wife and I are new to the Poconos area (East Stroudsburg, PA, to be exact), and we're looking for something nice to do on our upcoming 5th wedding anniversary. Anyone from the area, or who's been to the area have any suggestions? We're thinking a nice dinner and then perhaps a show somewhere (if that's even an option). We're willing to drive an hour or so (but not much more) away.

A friend wants to rent a small PA system, a pair of CDJs, and a mixer, for a party in NYC tomorrow night (Friday 1/19). I will be DJing, so I have an interest in making sure that the gear is good. The party is for an organization affiliated with NYU, and he can get some kind of gear from the university, but he's afraid it won't be very good. What are some good alternatives in the city?
