I'm looking to make outdoor wallpaper for a temporary-but-not-super-short-term installation. Anything from flypostering advice to more pricey suggestions would be very much appreciated, adhesive to printing to paper. Oh yeah, and it's for Ireland in the autumn/winter. [more inside]

I'm looking for a big, isolated concrete or asphalt lot in San Francisco that butts up against a tallish brick wall. I want to be able to bounce hard rubber lacrosse balls off of this wall for hours at a time and never be bothered by anyone. Anyone know of a place like this?

There's apparently a golf course near San Jose, CA., well it actually may be closer to Milpitas, but it supposedly has half a million trees. I can't seem to find anything about it or if it even exists. This information is coming from my father who played at this course many years ago (maybe 10-20). [more inside]

How can a Indian software engineer join documentary/photography crew of National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, PBS or other similar production houses? What kind of jobs are available in these organizations? Are there similar jobs (outside of the documentary business) that can take me to such places and pay for it? Low salary not an issue. Outdoor cinema-fi - I'm running an outdoor community movie series in an urban park. Should attract up to 200 people. I need recommendations for an audio set up. Last year I used my NAD amp/receiver with some home-made speakers; this set up occasionally shorted the amp (it switched off). This year I have a budget of about $1k for amp, speakers and wiring. Any suggestions? What are the major considerations? Thx

I have a painted metal thermometer that used to hang on my grandparents' porch. It's very old (fifty years?), and very rusty, but I love it. It's so rusty that the advertising ("Whiskey Hill Grocery") and the temperature gradations are barely discernible. How can I remove this oxydation without damaging the paint underneath, restore the piece to something approximating its original condition? Is this even possible?

I just realized that I get downright passionate about telling people how to have the best outdoor/hiking experience in the south half of BC/Alberta. I'm thinking this means I'd be happiest were I to get back into hiking. But I feel I've done it all here... does anyone have recommendations for truly stunning 3-5 day backpacking excursions? They don't necessarily require mountains: I've done some coastal hiking, and it was wonderful, too. Where in the world should I go?
