How can I recover my bitcoins that I forgot all about?

A little over X years ago, I traded for about $1500 worth of bitcoin off mt. gox (I'm PRETTY sure about that). I then set an alarm to go off in 7 days so that I could check on it to see if I'm making money or not. Shortly after, I received horrible news over the phone, and I had to leave the country for 9 months. A little while ago, an alarm on my calendar went off. I had set the alarm for X years and 7 days instead of just 7 days. It doesn't make sense, but it explains how I never remembered this. I have no idea where I put anything!? [more inside]

Remedial economic theory

I've had this concept in my head that I'm pretty sure I picked up in economics/management studies but I can't recall its name: The division of labor between an executive and her direct support staff is that staff can advise the executive about decisions to make, but ultimately she makes the decision and they then have to carry out that directive or policy (regardless of whether it's justified in their opinion). I had assumed I was thinking of the principal-agent problem, but that's clearly something else. What is this concept called?

The best team management app for a small recreational group?

I'm looking for the best team-management tool for my recreational a cappella group. Right now we use a mishmash of email, Facebook, Google Calendar, and texting, so tons of important information slips through the cracks and we waste time trying to get everyone on the same page. I'd really like to consolidate all of these to a single, centralized platform. [more inside]

Help me migrate away from Evernote

I have been a heavy user of Evernote for several years, but increasingly I find it is unreliable and performs poorly. I need to handle notes which include different media formats, which I don't have to explicitly organize, and which can be large. I don't want to interact with the file system directly. I would prefer an open solution that does these things well and doesn't do other stuff. Help me find a substitute with the features I need -- and migrate my data. [more inside]

La Commedia è finita - can the music go on?

So, dealing with the many ins and outs of caring for an ailing grandfather who's on his way out, I've come across one problem that the green might have an answer to. Said grandfather has been an audiophile all of his life and his front room is full of records and cds of opera, symphonies, concertos, cantatas, greatest hits of individual singers, etc. Is there anything we can do now so that his beloved music collection can go somewhere other than the trash when he dies? How should I have handled this difficult meeting? How to regain respect?

Basically, what happened last night was that during a meeting people were continuing to argue about how to determine the next course of action for an organization. As president, I decided to go with my gut and pushed for a third option, but I did so in a way that sounded like I was trying to push my role as the organization's leader to get my suggestion through. During this time my body language and patience deteriorated and it became a me vs everybody else situation where everybody suddenly had collectively found the solution that they wanted to reach, and at that point I had to concede my opinion and let their's represent the taken direction. How should I respond to a classmate regarding racial bias?

I'm an Asian female attending a University. I wanted to run for a leadership position in an organization that consists of 70% Asians. A Caucasian classmate of mine who wants to run for the same position thinks that I'll get elected over him because of the group's demographic. I found out from a mutual friend that he might withdraw from the election. How should I go about addressing this issue with him? I really want to make it a fair competition and convince him that the group demographic should not benefit me in anyway because I have the same amount of interactions with them as he does. I also want him to know that I have other skills and attributes that would make me fit the officer role, and not my race. Thank you for your advice!
