I currently use approximately four+ computers with all major OS'es (Mac, Windows, Linux-Ubuntu) between work and home. Plus an Ipod Classic for portable music listening. Problem is keeping my music library up to date on all machines, or synced together. If I create a playlist, or change ratings, genre, etc. the results also aren't propagated to the other machines. On Windows and Mac I've been using Itunes but I'm not necessarily tied to it, but it does work on 2 of the 3 OS'es.
There are some previous similar questions, but all look several years old.

I have a Mac with OSX Mountain Lion. My university uses Oracle Calendar 9.0.4. In the past, I have set up syncing to my iCloud calendar using my iPad with SyncML pro, so I know I can do this, in principle. What I'd like to do is find a way of syncing to my iCloud calendar without
an iOS device - preferably an OSX application. Why is this so hard to figure out how to do? [more inside]

I've read this
and a bunch of other sites. I've got a Mac Pro and a Powerbook I'd like to share home directories over, but I'd rather not purchase OS X Server or get a small machine up and running Linux to deal with authentication (LDAP). Anyone authenticate locally, but still use the portable home directories?
Alternatively, anyone just unison their entire /user/ directory?

Audio and video are out of sync on mp4s downloaded from Google Video about 80% of the time. Is there anything simple that I can do about this? OSX, by the way, and it's mostly for watching on my iPod.

It's been months now and I still can't find a synchronization solution for Google Calendar / iCal (or palm desktop) / Palm Pilot. The very fact that it's taken so long is making me suspect that there's some technical issue that makes it actually not possible. Is this correct? Is there a solution out there to sync (push data both ways) my google calendar with my palm pilot?

is there any way to "sync" email between a mac and a treo or blackberry device? might it be as simple as configuring an IMAP account?
i don't want to manage my email remotely only to come into the office and have to do it all again. and if i send important email from the road, i want it in my "sent" folder on my desktop.
please say yes - i really want one of these babies.

Does anyone know of a good, reliable free/shareware OS X app that can do simple backup/synchronise operations. Something like Syncback
on windows. Thanks.
