Moving North... Metro North. What's the 411 on Westchester Co.

My wife, 3-year old son, and I are leaving Brooklyn for somewhere off the metro north. We're looking to rent. Is there anything affordably middle class, not too long of a commute, and with good schools (specifically pre-k and early elementary) in Westchester County? [more inside]

Seeking History and Adventure Along I-85 from Petersburg to Atlanta

In a few weeks I'll be driving down I-85 from Petersburg VA to Atlanta GA and would like to fill the trip with occasional stops to see and explore places with historical and/or cultural significance. Can anyone suggest places I should see on my drive? Battlefields? Great barbecue? Birthplace of patriots? Controversial schools? Whatever, I just don't want to miss an opportunity to learn and see as much as possible. Ideally they should be no more than about 10 miles from the interstate.

North Korea Internet Outages

As of this writing, North Korea has had two Internet outages in 48 hours. A lot of people seem to watch when Internet service goes down for countries and companies. But I don't recall anyone saying North Korea's Internet had gone down until within the last couple of days. Has anyone reported North Korea's Internet going down in the past?

Trip to Wales - am I on the right track?

My wife and I are going to Scotland to see friends and family, and since I always wanted to summit Snowdon I thought I would look into a side trip to Wales. Does this itinerary makes sense? Moving 1BR Apt from CT to NC in one week: help?

Looking for some advice on moving a one bedroom apartment worth of stuff from Connecticut to North Carolina the week of New Years! Legitimate moving companies (Atlas/United/etc.) can't do it in such short notice. Renting a UHaul/Budget van is as expensive as using a company with little/no reviews. Any other suggestions? Any specific references for a reputable company which can make this happen? Thanks!

Looking for retailers with lifetime guarantee / warranty

I'm a huge fan of retailers who have lifetime guarantees or warranties. I'm trying to make an effort to buy more from these places. The retailers that I've enjoyed with these features include REI, Eddie Bauer, The North Face, Eastpak, Jansport and Koss headphones. Are there any more I should be aware of? I've heard about Briggs & Riley suitcases and Craftsman tools. Please let me know of any others and of your favorites.
