What should I do with this extra NOOK Color?

So, I recently got a NOOK Color hand me down from someone who didn't want it. The problem is I already have other far superior tablets for daily use. So, what cool, totally superfluous things can I do with the Color? [more inside]

Charge!

I'm trying to find a USB hub with at *least* 4 ports that will charge all my devices as a standalone charging station, not plugged into a computer. It is difficult to distinguish from product descriptions which devices expect to have a computer attached. [more inside]

If this isn't the droid I'm looking for, which one is?

Black Friday gave me a deal on a Nook Color that was too good to pass up. I'd like to dual boot Android on it using the SD slot and make it a functional tablet, but there's so many Android flavors out there... which one should I use? [more inside]

Bricks are a lovely red color, but I still don't want one

I just got a Nook Color for my birthday. It appears to be running v1.1.0 of the Nook software (which is old, n'est pas?). I want to root it, but I'm a complete newb at rooting. I need some handholding and a whole lot of information. (pardon the babbling, the joy of having the complete works of Agatha Christie at the touch of a finger has turned me into a gibbering idiot) [more inside]

How to re-root a Nook Color which was messed up by 1.3 udpate

I have a Nook Color which came with the stock 1.2 version of the BN software. I rooted it successfully to Cyanogenmod 7 (Froyo). Everything was great; birds sang, unicorns frolicked, and all was right in the world. Then a couple of weeks ago BN decided to push the 1.3 update over the air, and while I was using the Nook, the machine rebooted itself with the update, annoying me at the time because I was in the middle of using it. I put it aside for a while due to travels & such, and yesterday just picked up the Nook to realize that the 1.3 update busted my root. Most of my installed apps are gone, Android Market is completely nonfunctional, gmail and talk are dead. How do I fix this? [more inside]

There can only be one ring to rule them all. Or not.

Kindle3 or Color Nook or Samsung Tab or just sticking with dead trees? I've been reading so many reviews, forums, tech support, askme posts, that my head is spinning and I don't know what to think. The new Kindle and Nook are supposedly vastly better than their predecessors, so I'm hoping mefites with new holiday toys might be able to shed some light. [more inside]
