Nokia 6300 firmware update problem

A firmware update has broken my Nokia 6300. Do I have any options other than taking it for repair? I decided to update the firmware on my phone today (using Nokia's own update manager) when I connected it to my computer for the first time in many months. I ran through the process doing as I was supposed to, and updated the firmware from Version 5.0 to 6.6.

Unfortunately, after being told I could start using my phone again, the phone refused to cooperate.

When I turn it on, it seems to be working normally until just after the Nokia handshake animation when it slowly flashes 3 times before turning off.

Is there anything that I can do in a short space of time that can resolve this problem, or am I going to have to resign myself to going into some sort of phone repair establishment?

I'm in the UK (West Midlands) by the way, in case that's remotely relevant.

Can anyone recommend a to do list or shopping list application for my Nokia N95 cellphone?

I have a Nokia N95 and wondered if anyone could recommend any cellphone Java apps or Symbian S60 series 3 apps that would provide to do list / shopping list functionality to my phone. I use rememberthemilk.com on my PC but I need something when I'm out and about and cellphone web access doesn't really come cheap in the UK so I've ruled out the mobile version of RTM.

The built in todo list on the Nokia calendar app is awful. I'm currently using a java program called Odysseus for the shopping list but it too is pretty frustrating to use... and I'm currently using the standard Nokia notes application to keep todos in a text file on the phone but again - far from satisfactory.

My google-fu isn't really helping me locate a decent (preferablt free) alternative - anyone have tried and tested suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Nokia N95: is it better than a stick in the eye?

I have serious tech lust. I think I want to get the American version of the Nokia N95. Please help me decide if this is the phone for me. Pros: combines several functions (mp3 player, 5 megapixel camera, 30 fps video, gps, FM stereo, some great applications, pocket version of a VOIP client, web browser, works on 3G on AT&T, bluetooth, micro SD, 1 gig.

Cons: Cost! ($619-$699), have to get an AT&T plan, have to use a sim card from the AT&T plan

I am uncertain about how the phone will function in the states. Nokia has released an American Version (N95-3) which has some nice (extended battery life) features and has done some things that seem not so nice (gotten rid of the sliding lens cover for the camera).

So, if any of you have this phone, would you buy it again? What do you like best? What is a pain? Any support issues on using it in America? Any apps that are "must have"?

Cellphone Filter: Hunt for a superphone.

Cellphone Filter: Help, getting a new phone this week! Looking for an awesome superphone. I have currently got a Xda IIi (2i) which is an awesome phone, used it alot for business for when im on the road. Used it for email, wi-fi, skype and documents on the move.

Now I work from home and dont really need a brick on a phone as I have a PC in front of me all the time.

Im looking for a superphone that can take awesome pictures, video, have alot of supported software, wi-fi, and ability to use skype on it. I wouldnt mind support for quite alot of space so that I can watch videos or listen to mp3s on the move. 3G would be nice. Dont want a brick for a phone.

Skype is important aswell as Wi-fi.

Im on o2 in England, you can see the phones at www.o2.co.uk that are for offer. My contract ends of Thurday and wouldnt mind getting the phone now. But I will wait if a great phone is on the horizon.

Been looking at Nokia N91 as it has a 4gb hdd in it and has a decent camera (2mp) and apps to download. Thats my favourite so far. The N93 should be out in a month which is supposed to alot better.

Is there any of phones that you can recommend?

Nokia 9500 essential apps

After a long love affair with my Treo, I've gone and bought a Nokia 9500. It's too big to be my primary phone but I'm hoping it can replace my laptop when I'm travelling. What Series 80 software do you folks consider as essential?

I'm particularly interested in software that would act as a wifi-hotspot finder, though I'm not sure whether this is possible. I'm also interested in useful forums and websites. Also, games...

So I've got a new Symbian phone (a Nokia 6600) and I'm wondering what to play with. What are the killer apps? (Bonus points if you know of a Windows CE-style "Today" view to replace the launcher...
