I'm staying in a house with Wi-Fi and the connections look fine, but I can't get past a Netgear genie page, apparently for a WN2500RP -- on an aging PC running XP or an iPad2. Exactly the same thing happens with both machines. I get to a screen with five large-ish vertically stacked tabs on the left: 1 Select Network 2 Apply Security 3 Configure Extender 4 Finalize Settings 5 Review Settings. On both machines, the "Review Settings" tab is highlighted, but it and everything else on the page cannot be clicked/tapped/etc. on. It looks like there's supposed to be information to the right of the tabs, on the bulk of the screen, but it's blank. I've tried refreshing, just loading another page, etc., etc., etc., etc. I'm flummoxed. Huge thanks for any help anyone can provide.

My Wi-Fi is slow, and it seems to be the fault of the router. How can I make it faster? Barring that, is there a better router I could buy? Details inside. [more inside]

I just upgraded to a new modem from Time Warner, which gives me super fast download speeds! Currently, however, I don't have easy access to my router's configuration page, and can't seem to figure out why. Help! I'll try to give all the pertinent details. [more inside]

I have a NetgearWG111v3 wireless USB network adapter. I absolutely hate the software it comes with to manage internet connections. I'd rather use the default network management tool that is built into Windows 7 (clicking on the notification area to bring a drop down list of available networks). Is there a way to restore the windows 7 default?

I've got a Netgear WNR2000v2 wireless router
, and am sharing my DSL connection with a neighbor. My apartment uses the main network and my neighbor is on a guest network.
What's been happening lately is that the Internet gets really slow, and what I'd like to do is to cap the guest network at, say, 75kBps. I don't know if she's running torrents or what, but I would like to have the fast Internet that I'm paying for. [more inside]

Netgear 85 mbps Powerline Network Adapter Kit and watching Netflix movies on my BlueRay player... why does movie stop, download and then start again every few minutes? I just tested my DSL speed and it is 1180 Kbps at the moment. Do I need to upgrade the Netgear Powerline Adapter to 200 mbps or is it another problem?

I'm having a wireless connectivity issue that is proving troublesome. My Windows XP-equipped desktop won't connect wirelessly to the internet about 90% of the time. Intermittently, it will connect and browsing proceeds normally. If I connect via LAN Ethernet, all is well.
I'm using a Netgear WG111 v2
wireless adapter connected via USB to my desktop. My wireless router is a Netgear WGR614 v6 [more inside]

I've seen this
When I'm running Transmission (I used to use Azareus, with the same problems, but I switched because a lot of the trackers I used banned it. I will switch if anyone can suggest a better client) on OSX it kills all of my web browsing.
Even when I turn on Speed Limiter there is no web browsing. I'm only downloading one file, with one peer at the moment, for what that's worth. But when I cap upload at 5k, web browsing works again (by the way, I browse with Firefox). That doesn't seem right to me.
I have Time Warner Road Runner cable internet and a Netgear WGR614v7 - 54 Mbps Wireless Router.
Is there anything I'm overlooking to be able to browse the web while downloading torrents?

I'm having strange Wireless issues. I've tried two PCI cards (they were both LINKSYS WMP11 PCI Wireless-B Adapter) and a USB dongle (Netgear WG111T USB) in Windows XP and Ubuntu Feisty Fawn.
Any time I get to the point where the wireless connection is being made, the computer completely freezes. No keyboard or mouse response at all. I have to shut the computer's power off. Any suggestions? [more inside]

What single tech issue is likely to cause these three things to occur (when they all recently worked):
- Inability to upload using Flickr Uploadr (the message says "can't connect to Flickr")
- Inability to sub to podcasts in iTunes
- GMail notified can't connect to the server?
All issues relate to stand-alone programs which read information on the internet. And yet, visiting these web sites directly is no problem at all.
These issues are all new, and I think they relate to my new Netgear router software. I don't have these problems on my laptop, even when I'm using it at home wirelessly.
Any of you brainiacs got any ideas? I'm tired of calling India!!More details about this problem can be found in the FlickrBugs forum.
