King and Queen of the Road

Planning a move from Brooklyn to Seattle by car in late February/early March, and need advice. My husband and I are cheapskates in our mid-20s who have never driven cross-country before and want to make an excursion out of this move. [more inside]

Who has overestimated the American public's desire for chocolate this year?

My favorite holiday, Half-Price Candy Day, happens four times a year: Nov. 1, Dec. 26, Feb. 15, and the day after Easter. I usually hit a chain drugstore or grocery store for my Conversation Hearts or Robin's Eggs, but it just occurred to me that I could probably do better. [more inside]

Help me whimsically prank some folks.

Where can I find some small, cheap flashing lights? It doesn't really matter what kind of light they are as long as they flash, a variety of colors would be nice but not necessary, the ability to turn them on and off is nice but not necessary, they shouldn't require a cumbersome power source but they don't need to last much longer than ten minutes, and I need to be able to obtain them by tomorrow (Saturday) in NYC.
