Can anyone suggest a great bridal seamstress in the NYC area that can do a wedding dress from scratch using a picture as reference? Adding difficulty, this would need to be done for less than ~$1000, and the wedding is May 6, so it would have to be done (with fittings, etc.) before that.

Our wedding cake people canceled on us 2.5 weeks before our wedding! So we're seeking some affordable NYC bakeries who make GREAT cakes (we don't care about decorations, just the flavor) and can fulfill an order for 100 people on fairly short notice. We are considering asking for multiple smaller cakes, as it seems requesting one large, stacked cake significantly narrows down our options when ordering sort-of last minute.

I want to rent an event space in NYC. Where do I start? It's basically a wedding reception without the wedding, I'd like it to hold about eighty people, with an open bar and using my own caterers. NYC Wedding Filter: The future Ms. Smatatoes thinks numbered tables for our wedding would be too boring, but the current Mr. Smatatoes doesn't want cutesy names (ie, "Tribeca", "Red Hook"), either. So our compromise is getting nice photographs of numbers from around the city- ie, a shot of the front of a 1 train for table #1, and so on. Here's the question: what are some good, creative places to get a cool shot of the numbers 1-20 around NYC?

I'm planning a 60-70 guest wedding in March, and have settled on a reception venue in the West Village (near Carmine and Bedford). This place can accomodate the Saturday morning wedding ceremony also, but I'd rather choose a different place within walking distance. I'm looking for something out of the ordinary.
