Resol evad gib!

MuppetFilter: Who was that guy? In the Linda Carter episode, Muppet News conjures a crocodile via the phrase Resol Evad Gib, which is "Big Dave Loser" backwards.

Who is Dave? Dave Goelz?

Where can I learn how to be a successful puppeteer?

Where can I learn the skills needed to be a successful puppeteer? Are there places in where Miami can I take classes? Are there quality books or websites on the subject? I checked out this thread, which was full of great resources -- but I'm hoping that there are more resources out there on how to bring life to a puppet once it is created.

I'm specifically interested in working with hand-rod puppets (think Muppets or Avenue Q), but I welcome information about marionettes and other forms of puppets as well.

Sinister goings-on on the Muppet Show. Am I making this up?

I have a memory of some rather sinister goings-on on the Muppet Show. Am I making this up? I recall a guest on the show (possibly Liza Minelli) being attacked in his/her dressing room by something called a "clanger". It happened in the dark and there was possibly more than one. My memory of the clanger itself is of a tall piece of wire bent at the top, something like an upside-down letter "L". Were these actually characters on the show or did I just have an overactive imagination as a child?
