I have a Moveable Type weblog. I would like to redirect the feeds. This probably involves using .htaccess and mod_rewrite. My mind has grown weary after two hours of trying to get this to work. Can anyone offer advice? [more inside]

How would I go about integrating the "Recommended this post" feature that I see at the bottom of Londonist, Gothamist and Wooster Collective posts (all Typepad blogs) into my wordpress blog? [more inside]

I'm interested in moving away from Moveable Type for my blog. Unfortunately, the only DBMS my webhost provides is PostgreSQL. Wordpress doesn't support it. Blosxom seems promising, but I'm behind a firewall and proxy at work, so web-based management is a must. I'm very technical; enough so that I'm considering writing my own blog CMS, and only the time investment is holding me back. What are my options? What do you recommend?

My MT 3.15 is very broken, it seems, and the support forums have not been helpful... yet. I'm under the gun to get a fix, so I'll throw this probelm out there. I'm a novice at hardcore under-the-hood programming and database debugging, so I'm willing to pay for a pro to have a look at it. Where in the world do I go to get such help? [+] [more inside]

Having recently installed MoveableType (after a LiveJournal migration from hell), I'm looking to personalize my blog. I can deal with web design for the templates, but I'm curious as to how people like this guy get listening and reading lists on their index. Slaving over obscure plug-in sites isn't helping. Any suggestions?

Comment Spam question. Recently I've been hit with hundreds of comment spams to my weblog (MT 3.0 w/ mt-blacklist). The funny thing is the links aren't to the normal kind of sites. The domain names are randoms letters that don't resolve and the text is usually a person's name. For example the link might be 'Lucille' with the domain of xzxesfseor.com.

Why are the comment spammers doing this? Are they attempting to overwhelm the blacklist systems with nonsense? Any explanations?

I have put my Moveable Type weblog to sleep, although I am keeping its archives up. Not surprisingly, comment spam continues to come in. It looks like there is no way to globally turn commenting off in MT. Rats. But I do have MT Blacklist installed, and I'm wondering if there's a good way to add some kind of regex wildcard to my blacklist that will deny all comments. Any ideas on how to stop all comments?

A Movable Type db question: hypothetically, if I wanted to delete all my entries, categorizations, comments, and trackbacks, while leaving templates and config settings intact, leaving me with a nice, clean tabula rasa, which MySQL tables should I truncate? (I'm on Movable Type 3.01D.)

MoveableTypeFilter: Templates. I'm looking for free template repositories. Has anyone made a random MT template generator? (Like that fun but somewhat crude "Random CSS/HTML page generator" that seems to have vanished from my bookmarks and I can't Google for Pete.)

If not, how about recommended tutorials? More inside -> [more inside]

My MT powered blog (version 2.51) has just been hit by over 200 comment spams. Is there some sort of "delete last x comments" command, or do I have to delete them all manually? And how do I stop this happening again? To install MT Blacklist I have to update MT, and I can't do this under the new license because it is a group blog with numerous authors. Please spare me the dullness of repetitive delete button clicking!

MTFilter: I want to track several lists of items (movies to be watched, books to be read, music listened to) as side-bar items on my MoveableType site. I suspect I can do this by creating blogs for each type of item but I'm a bit lost as to the details. Pointers?

How easy is it to get Movable Type to work with Oracle? I would like to use this at work but it wouldn't be acceptable with a MySQL or Berkeley DB. How difficult would it be? Should I just wait and hope that it's supported with Movable Type version 3?

Can anyone recommend a decent web host whose cheapie package will support the cgi magic that is Moveable Type? I'm about to start a new Moveable Type blog and I'd like to host it in the $0-$5 per month range. I don't need a lot of web space. I don't want to use Type Pad's "Basic" service, because of the features it lacks. Is there a MT-equivalent of Blogspot? Apache on *nix would be preferred. [more inside]

IP EXPERTS! What's the definitive solution to comment spam on weblogs? I manage one that has been spammed with links to supposedly pornographic third-level domains, e.g. http://red-hot-anal-sluts.boringaddress.com, sometimes with a folder afterward. [Mo' inside] [more inside]
