My windows look out onto a train platform where thousands of tired, stressed, or lonely people stand and wait every day in New York. On other platforms I've seen people put signs up in their windows as messages for the folks waiting for a train. What message could I put up in my window to make people smile or make their days just a little bit better?

Looking for a website that lets me do this: For a set group of people, each submits a message. You can see who's sent a message, but not what the contents of the message are. When everyone's submitted a message, all the messages are revealed. This is for an online Magic: the Gathering tournament - we're having everyone submit an entry before anyone sees what anyone else submitted.

WTH? Message in a bottle, secret admirer, or random gibberish?
A friend's mom took her car to the shop (SW US) and left a whiteboard (which she uses to communicate) inside. After she picked the car up she noticed the following written on it. Any ideas as to what language it is or what it says? Thanks in advance.

Applefilter: I ordered an iPod touch from the official german apple website with an engraved message.
Two problems: They messed up the engraving and they left the package with a neighbour even though it explicitely says on the package that this is not allowed. I'm in Germany.

Can someone help me understand what people mean when they say - "Media is the message" or "Media is not the message". I don't get it at all? And online searching has not helped a great deal in gaining clarity either. Thanks.

Allshare Error Message filter: We have recently purchased a Samsung Smart Blu-Ray Player. The big attraction for us was that it would enable us to play shows downloaded from the Internet via the Allshare program. However, after I downloaded Allshare and tried to run it, I received the following error: "The Allshare shared server has shut down. It will restart." I would close the message, and it would come back again and again. [more inside]

A previous thread recommended OhDontForget.com
as a way of scheduling text messages to be sent to one's phone. Though the site makes reference to UK cellphone carriers, tests to my O2 phone have not worked, and the site says it is "currently only working in the US and partly in Canada". Does anyone know of a similar service that functions in the UK?

Because this question just doesn't get asked enough: please help me remember this book I enjoyed as a child in the early 1970s. In it, 3 boys are at the beach. They find at least one (maybe more) message in a bottle, and I think the message is in some sort of code. I thought the title was "Three By The Sea" but I checked Amazon.com and the book they have with that title is definitely NOT the book I'm thinking of. Anyone?

My current phone, a Samsung A930 is a clamshell style, and it doesn't display whether or not I have a text message when it's shut. Are there any phones out there of the clamshell design that display a small envelope or other symbol on the external display?
