I'm trying to do a social media analysis of SiriusXM Satellite Radio. I would like to compare similar type brands. What do think would be some good brands to compare it to. I'm thinking about HBO or MTV? What do you think? Others?

What are the best online sites for job hunting - specifically technical sales and marketing (software sales, hardware, etc). I got blind sided by a layoff on Monday. I've spent the last two days working my network and now it's time to start hitting the job sites. What are the good ones? I haven't had to do this in about 6 years. My initial reaction is that the job sites aren't any better, and maybe are worse, than I remember.

I really hope people don't see this as me promoting myself; I really need shared experience and advice about how to market myself. I am on some business forums but they tend to promote just themselves as THE place to market yourself - there must be more...
So, I run a proofreading/copyediting/copywriting/transcribing business. Doing OK as I launched while working full time at a day job. Now looking to transition out of the day job, a step at a time, so I can spend that time on the business. Eventual aim: work a 40 hour week just on the business, at home, for myself.
But the day job might require me to drop 2.5 days a week rather than the 1 I can really cope with. So I need to up my marketing to drive some business my way. Any solutions you've used that really work? e.g. there is a consensus that Yellow Pages/Yell is not worth the fee. Also I work with US and UK clients, though UK based - any hints for reaching more US people?

There are a lot of e-blast and mailing list software options for PC, but if you have a Mac and want to send out e-mails to a lot of people in an organized way, is there any great way to go? I REALLY can't afford to use Constant Contact right now, my mailing list is large and it would cost a *bunch*.

Please post examples of businesses, anywhere on earth, using Facebook in a very effective way. I need to create a promo video for our software and I'm looking for examples for inspiration. This demo will live on our website. What are some of the best done 3-4 minute software demos / promos that you've seen online? Or what advice do you have? I have Adobe Captivate to work with. In the past I have done this with screenshots and Microsoft Movie Maker. Captivate seems to give me a whole lot more options, maybe too many as I'm having a hard time deciding how to do this. I've looked at our competitors websites and the offerings there are amateurish and somewhat embarrassing. I can do much better, and I'm not even particularly good at this stuff. I don't want this to be an in depth demo. I'm trying to do more of a commercial, for lack of a better term.

I am really confused and need help. My job is in the online advertising world as a product marketing manager. New job position. The problem is that my knowledge of online advertising is low although I have worked in this field for 4 years.

My mom is a singer/songwriter. She asked for some help with some online-marketing, website-redesign etc type ideas, and I said "sure"! She's now got me hooked up with a whole list of "tasks" that are really beyond my skillset, and interests, and has set it up for me as a 20-hr per week job (since I'm only working part-time). I'm sure there are people who'd love to do this as an internship (she's even willing to pay!), who are interested in music/music promotion -- what are they called, how can I find them, and how do I convince my mom that she'd be better-served hiring them?
