I am using Mail on OS 10.5.2. I have several mailboxes as well as subfolders. If I put messages in a mailbox that has subfolders, these messages do not appear when I look for them in the Finder. I'll try to be clearer inside. [more inside]

I have a curbside mailbox and mail theft is common in Utah (http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,600129714,00.html). Big Credit Card Company (BCCC) sends me convenience checks that can be stolen and cashed by anybody. The post office won’t let me move my mailbox to my house. In Thunderbird, I can make a smart mailbox that shows only messages I haven't replied to, but I can't change the size of the text in the message lists. In Apple Mail, I can change the list size but can't figure out how to make a smart mailbox that only shows unreplied messages. I think I'd be better at answering mail if I could solve either of these problems. Help?

I'm looking for a service where I can rent a personal mailbox, and when mail comes in, it is scanned and put somewhere where I can retrieve it electronically (or get the paper mail forwarded to me, wherever I happen to be at the time). I've been using these folks in Las Vegas for a while (they're great, BTW)... but they only do the store-and-forward thing, and I'm really looking for electronic delivery whenever possible.
