Should I use the Migration Assistant when updating from a Powerbook to a Macbook Pro? Or just reinstall the software and/or look for Intel native or Universal binaries?

Should I be worried that my new MacBook's power button is no longer flush with the keyboard surface? It's tilted a tiny bit, and seemed to happen yesterday. Coincidentally, this was the first time I took it out of the house, albeit only briefly. I just got the thing this week, so I'm worried that I've got some sort of new parent syndrome ("My baby doesn't like grabbing my pinky with her left hand as much as her right- is she dying?"). So...is she dying? Should I get to the nearest Apple Store ASAP?

I just bought a MacBook Pro after my dead Toshiba. Interesting. Different. I installed Firefox and moved my bookmarks from my XP computer. But now they're all screwed up on the Mac! They had been ordered alphabetically with the folders full of links on top, but now the folders are on the bottom (having ordered them alphabetically on the Mac). XP keeps folders together and Mac doesn't, it seems (this seems also to be the case in the "Finder"). Let me know if I'm missing something.... Please float my folders....

Last night, suddenly and without provocation, my MacBook started grinding and crackling something fierce, mid-Google Reader browse. I shut it down quickly, savored the adrenaline rush, and started it up again. It wound up with a loud whine that accelerated until... well, it slowly dropped to a low whir. And it continues to whir. But the computer runs (for now) as if there's nothing wrong. My guess is it's the fan. If so, though, what happened? It was so sudden. (And this is not the iMoo.) And does this require Apple service, or can I somehow fix this myself? Should I stop using the MacBook entirely in the meantime?

When will the next MacBook update happen? I know Apple doesn't tell, but could someone give me an educated guess based on product lifecycle? I'm about to upgrade, but I always buy right right before they update.

I was using the headphone jack on my macbook and moved it around slightly when the sound suddenly cut out. I soon realized that the very tip of the headphone plug had broken off and gotten stuck inside the jack, and the rest of the plug remained intact. I tried using a small refrigerator magnet to see if it would draw the broken bit out, but it didn't, and i didn't want to try a more powerful magnet because I don't know where the hard drive is in the computer. I was thinking maybe getting some pointy tweezers and taking the battery out so I don't electrocute myself while poking around in the jack? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I just got a new Macbook with Parallels and Windows XP pre-installed. I knew of someone who utilized the accelerometer to be able to flip between OSX and Windows by a slap of the side of the screen. How can I set this up on my MacBook?

New Macbooks? Am I right in thinking that every one of Apple's new intel line products have been updated except the Macbook? I know that the Mac Pro and Xserv have not, but they were released later, so that's ok. The iMac, the Mini, and now the Macbook Pro have all received nice quiet little bump-ups in specs that make a considerable difference. A little more within... [more inside]

Will I be at any disadvantage if I buy the most basic of the Macbooks? What would I NOT be able to do that I might have to do? How can I watch TV on my MacBook Pro? What hardware/software will I need? My room has a cable outlet where I can hook a regular TV up, but I'm a little confused as to what I need after that. (The ability to record/pause would be great, but not really needed.)
