New Macbooks? Am I right in thinking that every one of Apple's new intel line products have been updated except the Macbook? I know that the Mac Pro and Xserv have not, but they were released later, so that's ok. The iMac, the Mini, and now the Macbook Pro have all received nice quiet little bump-ups in specs that make a considerable difference. A little more within...

Will I be at any disadvantage if I buy the most basic of the Macbooks? What would I NOT be able to do that I might have to do? This would be my first laptop, I'm on a limited budget (less than $1300), and I live both inside and outside the United States, so I have a few (sub-)questions.

How can I watch TV on my MacBook Pro? What hardware/software will I need? My room has a cable outlet where I can hook a regular TV up, but I'm a little confused as to what I need after that. (The ability to record/pause would be great, but not really needed.)

MacBook doesn't seem to want to burn any CD-Rs. I'm trying to back up my data for the first time, but as soon as burning starts I get an error message:
"Burning the disc failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Error code 0x80020000)"
It doesn't seem to be one particular disc, and I've never had a problem like this before on any other mac. Any advice?

I just got a new MacBook Pro 15.4 (1.83 GHz). Everything's great, except for a hissing from the right-hand internal speaker anytime a sound plays through it. When just idle, in Word for example, there is no noise. But anytime a sound-using program is booted, iTunes or GarageBand for example, there is a continual hissing and popping noise, similar to fuzz on a television screen, that is very loud. Anytime a system sounds plays, such as the Trash sound, hissing accompanies it. The only way to make the noise stop is to plug in headphones, or external computer speakers. This hissing only occurs through the internal speakers. Does anyone know how to stop this annoying sound?

I'm looking to buy a new Macbook as a secondary computer, however, I want it to be the sole host to my 60gb iPod. I currently have a Toshiba laptop, which has an 80BG hard drive. After two years of use, I've realized I need at least a 120 GB hard drive in any new laptop I get. I don't want to shell out the cash for Apple to throw an upgraded drive in ($250!!!!), but instead I want to buy a new hard drive off ebay or something and replace the 80GB one inside the fresh Macbook. Since I'm only accustomed to the Windows OS -- How do I go about doing this for an Apple computer? Also, does anyone know where I can get a good deal on a laptop drive? :)

I'm considering buying a Powerbook G4 15 inch, but I hesitate to do so knowing that the Macbook comes out so soon. I am worried that Macbook is untested and could be buggy, especially with heat/power/battery issues (see
here and
here). Is it a bad idea to buy a Powerbook G4 now? Will the price drop after the MacBook goes on the market?
