USB hub for Macbook Air - can you recommend one? I just need something I can plug the usual array of peripherals into: iPod, iPad, SuperDrive, camera, external keyboard, mouse, printer, etc. (not necessarily all at once). I don't think I need anything fancy like extra hard drive storage built in, but open to all ideas. Thanks.

I recently bought a new Macbook Pro (2.3 i5) and almost immediately put 8GB 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM in it. Almost immediately, I got a kernel panic, and then Chrome would crash every once in a while. I have also had occasional crashes of Pages, MailPlane, and BusyCal, but no more panics. It has been about a week or so since I installed the RAM. Do you think I have a bad memory stick, or is this occasional crashiness related to something else?

Is this laptop battery a ripoff, and how can I be sure? I bought a third party battery for my Macbook. It looks like the original 45Wh battery, but Coconut Battery (and the appropriate ioreg command) report the 'design capacity' as lower than it should be.

My wife and I have a MacBook and a Linksys wireless router. The last few days our internet connection has been spotty, so this afternoon I reset the router. Since doing that we're able to connect to the wireless, but our network name has changed to "linksys" and no password is required to connect to it. How can I change it back to the old network name/password? I've tried going into the AirPort and Network preferences sections, but it doesn't give me the option of changing the name/password for the connection.

I have a Mac Book Pro 17inch..I have had it for about 2.5 years. The logic board had to be replaced around 3 months ago. Fortunately, apple fixed it gratis, since this model had "known issues" and it was handled under warranty even though it was out of warranty.
It has worked fine since then, no problems whatsoever, until this morning when I tried to wake the computer --the screen was crazy looking and the cursor was frozen. Super horrifying since I haven't backed up in 3 weeks (I am a typical 60 year old user). I restarted and everything seemed ok except when I went to blogger (as a typical 60 year old, I maintain a blog)...there was an error message that cookies were disabled. HMMM. I got to the blog by googling myself and things seemed ok.

Should I buy a macbook or an ipad? I travel for work pretty frequently and would mostly be using the computer for internet, downloading books and video, things like that, which makes the ipad tempting. I own another laptop, but it's older, so my concern with buying the ipad is that if my current laptop breaks, having ONLY an ipad might not be smart. I'm selling my Macbook tomorrow (Snow Leopard). What's the best way for me to get everything off of it and then delete that stuff so the new owner has as clean a slate as possible. Do I just plug in a drive and turn on Time Machine? (Does that copy my software and everything else?) I'd prefer to get it off in such a way that I don't have to make my new Macbook Air be a mirror of that old machine--I'd like to pick and choose what I put on it and leave the rest backed up on the external hd.

I think I killed my wireless card... My macbook pro connects to wifi very sporadically. About half the time, I can be sitting three feet from the wireless router and no network will show up, but my housemates are able to detect the network rooms away. Is this fixable?
