I'm going to the Presidential Inauguration this month, in Washington DC, and I'd like to solicit tips and tricks to make the day go smooth for me. The last time I was in DC was 8 years ago, and it was for a day trip. What to do? What to avoid? What is security going to be like, will they have food and drink for sale, etc. If you went in 2009, what was it like? How did you survive the day?
Also, I have written both of my Senators for tickets, and have heard nothing back from them, so I'm going under the assumption that I didn't get any. Thus, I will probably be watching the ceremony on the National Mall. If I end up here, where's the best place to stand? I'm flying in from Seattle for this, I'm not missing it!

In the 70's, a film was made about aliens settling their feuds on Earth. These beings would take human form and then shoot out their differences on neutral ground. There were only two special effects involved; The destruction of their opponent's corpses [ a simple bonfire] and the pre-showdown identification of the same with special sun-glasses [suck on it 'theylive'] . What drew me in as a child [aside from the weirdly bland fires] was the relationship between the alien and the human girlfriend he hid behind. Without throwing in a spoiler, the last shot haunts me to this day.
I ask because I am working on a script that leans on this work and I will be asked where my inspiration comes from. Plus I would like to see it again.

Quick question...if I purchase a domain name (ie greaselightning.com) through Wordpress, can I transfer it to a different cms (?) in the future if i am not happy with wordpress' performance? We just bought a condo (with a large closet in the master) in a ski resort town about 1 1/2 hours from our home. we use it on weekends and for vacation. I have a question about keeping clothes there or packing clothes each time we go.
I thought originally it would make sense to keep clothes there but am finding it kind of makes me crazy.
It seems like unless I remember what is there, I am forever guessing wrong. For example, last time I was there I was with only one pair of underwear because I thought i had some there.
Anyone have any advice for me that will simplify my clothing life?
It almost seems easiest to just pack all of what i need for the weekend.
We go about 2 weekends per month and I visit random times alone during the month.

until today, my laptop wont read and open up my external hard drive. i haven't unplugged it without safely removing it or anything either.
it also makes this constant tapping noise, like the sound of a tap dripping. (which it never used to make)
