In the 80's, which guitarist played a white guitar daubed with paint splotches and Pollock-like streaks of neon pink and green, among other colors? I recall seeing the guitar (probably in a video), but can't place the guitarist or find any images.

MusicvideoFilter: Animated mid to late 80s brazilian(?) music video on MTV, what was it? This has been bugging me for decades. There was a video shown on MTV for a while in the mid-to-late 80's that I'd love to see or hear again. I think the band was Brazilian, or at least latin. The video was animated colored drawings on a black background and did a lot of morphing from one thing to another. Can the hive mind mind put me on the right track?

Back in the days when MTV had Donal Logue and Denis Leary doing promos, I seem to recall a brief bit where two comedians did an impression of Christopher Walken and Jeff Goldblum having a conversation. It was essentially a bunch of "umm" and "ahh" with the appropriate bizarro stylings. The Walken guy might have been Jay Mohr, he does a pretty good impression and it's about the right timeframe. Unsure who might have done the Goldblum. Any ideas? Any video?

I've got a question about a song played on the old MTV sketch show "The State." There was a brief sketch in which Michael Ian Black was introduced to the importance of wearing pants, followed by a montage of him joyously striding around in his newly-acquired trousers. What was the name of the song that was used in this sketch?

Does anyone have any info on a Liquid Television animation that I remember as a guy driving a race car around an inside track (kind of like "RollerBall" w/ James Caan) and the guy refuses to stop his car and melts or dies? I also remember about halfway through the segment a cigarette falling from someone's hand in slow motion and hitting the floor. And no, I haven't been smoking anything illegal (though I might have been then). I'm getting nowhere with my search.

Does anyone know where I can find a link to a video of Kurt Loder interviewing Buckethead on MTV several years ago? It was the one featuring Herbie the Severed Head, the puppet who spoke on Buckethead's behalf. I can find the transcript, but I'm not having any luck finding the video itself. Thanks.

I was watching MTV Europe sometime last month, and I saw some live festival performance by a hard rock/metal band that used the "bassline" (really guitar) from Seven Nation Army. The rest of the song was completely different; it wasn't just a cover. It might have been an Italian group. Any ideas?

MTV series like the Real World use a huge amount of current popular music as background noise. How can this not be prohibitive in cost?

Does anyone remember a funny U.S. commercial featuring three bumpkins ("Little Yuka" and "Big Yuka", pronounced "yooka") living in the back of beyond, where one is found to be uncool for some reason (he breaks something?) and is duly whacked for it? The voice-over was, I think, in a Swedish-inflected hillbilly accent.
