Have been dating this guy for almost three months, am feeling very serious about him, and he about me. There’s just one thing: he doesn’t laugh. Hardly at all. Almost never. I am trying to figure out if I should move forward with a relationship which is wonderful in pretty much every other way. [more inside]

I'm part of a short-term couple. We both know it will probably end in about six months from now, due to a long-distance move. I feel that there's a multitude of things I can experiment with here, due to the short-term nature of the (non?)relationship. But what are those things? Also: I know that each relationship is different, but what are the general rules of such relationships, anyway? How am I supposed to be in love, without falling in love? What can I do to make the most of the time we have left? [more inside]

How can I get over him when I fell for hard for him? Recently my "friend" I have been seeing dumped me. Ok, his name is Alex. We said we would take it as friends and see where it goes since I prefer my relationships to go like that anyway but I need to get over what happened just over the summer. This is going to be LONG, I must warn you. [more inside]

So I've been dating this really cool gentlemen for 2 months. We are taking things slow but I find myself getting caught up with him. This is a problem. It's a problem because now he's holding back a bit whereas he was stronger in pursuing me before. Can anyone share advice as to how I can keep my cool so he doesnt become disinterested? Also, how will I know when a man has become disinterested? I'm rambling, sorry but when i become infatuated or "in love" I can't think straight and I lose my sense of self. Save this poor girl from herself. Ha!

My question is about intent? If you hurt someone with what you perceive to be their and your best interests in mind, while simultaneously knowing that what you are doing will hurt that person, is it any different than actively trying to hurt the person. Does duration and occurrence play a role? If I don’t mean to hurt you, but know I am and will for 4 years is it less bad than a single act of active hurtfulness? Is it possible to want to hurt someone you love in an extreme moment but still love and care for that person? Is it possible to call that love? [more inside]

So there was a girl (as all of these things tend to start). She gave herself to me utterly in the BDSM and just plain loving sense, and meant it. We had a stormy but passionate relationship, and in retrospect I treated her badly during it. We'd broken up and weren't talking but I felt I'd left her alone to protect her from disappointment. We talked again, and we tried to go out...then she said she was no longer in love with me. I'm not an emotive person, and I guess I've never really felt heartbreak before (I'm late 20s). How do I get over this? [more inside]

I'm looking for movies about love that are not of the Titanic type. That is, they are about two people who learn to love each other over a long period of time. Maybe at first they don't particularly like each other - or they are just together by necessity, or they are just friends and never think about love. Any ideas? [more inside]
