I will be traveling on business to London Sunday to Friday, staying at the Four Seasons on Park and will be working most of my time there. Any down time will be after 5 pm, any suggestions on something to do/eat/see? I visited London when I was young and did many of the touristy things. I am most interested in just enjoying some of the city without making it too complicated. Also, curious about any suggestions of what things I should make sure to pick up in London for myself (sounds like there are so not to miss beauty products) and for co-workers/significant other. I was thinking of the Fortnum & Mason marmalade and possibly Scotch? This is my first time doing a big trip on business, any suggestion in that capacity would also be welcome!
Help! In London tonight, where should we go for dinner tonight? (a Friday night!?) [more inside]

My Korean friend wants to major in photography, either in New York or London. She thinks London is better for photojournalism, and is enticed by easy access to the rest of Europe. She believes New York is better for fashion photography, but that's about it. Does anyone have firsthand knowledge about this? [more inside]

I work with databases and T-SQL. I'd like to be taught to program fun software-type stuff quickly and painlessly, in London. Maybe some Objective-C, I'm not sure. I think I'd prefer a one-week intensive course or two to evening classes, but I'm open to the latter if they're really good. [more inside]

UK (and especially London) folks, where should a returning US labor union staffer work in the UK? I’ll be returning to London (location non-negotiable) early next year after almost ten years in the US. I left the UK soon after I graduated (I’ve never held a career job there), and I’ve worked as a labor union staffer in the US, working my way up to positions with a good deal of strategic and management responsibility, but I'm absolutely open to a change... I am flying into London Stansted later this week. I'll be meeting a friend who works in Central London, and then driving with them to South Yorkshire. We'd like to meet somewhere in far North London/Beds/Herts that is as least somewhat on the way from Stansted to the M1, probably somewhere off the M25, and ideally a relatively small, uncomplicated town (I haven't driven manual or on the left for a couple of years and this is going to be during rush hour!). It should also be easy to get to on the train from Kings Cross or Euston. I don't know the area, so I'm going by Google Maps at the moment. Our current plan is Potters Bar station. Any better ideas?

Hyde Park and Regents Park are obvious options - are there any others?

I am curious about the origins of a few of the London riot rumours. How did the highly unlikely rumour that the Blackberry Messenger was the communication channel of choice for rioters/looters get started? Also how did the false story that Duggan had shot at the police get started?
Catch-up-the-North-American-filter: Please suggest films that I can watch to get up on the socioeconomic situation in Britain, leading up to the current unrest. Bonus if it's streaming on Netflix. Documentary or not.
In recent coverage of the Mark Duggan shooting and subsequent riots, I've seen a few instances of people referring to the police as "feds". Obviously in Britain there are no actual feds since there's no federal government, so what's the story here? [more inside]
