Flying into Heathrow from the US, arriving in the evening on a Saturday. My wife thinks we should take the tube from the airport to our hotel in Kensington (the hotel is a short walk from the West Kensington station). Help me figure out a couple of things. [more inside]

I'll be in London for a party & wedding over two weekends, and need ideas for domestic travel during the week in between, and the few days after. I've been to UK before, but all i've really seen is central london, Oxford, and Stonehenge. (i'll be clearer about my schedule and needs after the jump!) [more inside]
Travelling to London next week. Need advice on packing for the weather. [more inside]
Where are some interesting places to walk in London? I am in London the next few days and would like to explore some new areas after work. All I know is Bloomsbury to Mayfair to Westminster, so not much at all! It would need to be reachable by tube and should be safe. I would love to find little shops or cafés as well as just a pleasant place to walk for a few hours. I am staying in Hackney, if that is relevant. [more inside]
Planning Ahead Filter: My travel buddy already has a ticket on Airline A (ATL-LHR round trip) for our planned trip together in November. (Miles & awards redeemed so she is set). We're deciding what to do about my ticket. [more inside]
In a few hours (5), I will leave Kuwait en-route back to the United States. I have a 24-hour layover in London and a hotel room (right across from Heathrow) that has already been bought and paid for my my company. I will arrive at around noon, and I will have until around 10 a.m.-ish tomorrow (Sunday) to explore London. Money is no significant concern (but let's keep it reasonable). What are the absolute must-see PG-13 things to do in London in 22 hours? GO!
My wife will be in London for 2 days in late April. She asked me to ask you some things. [more inside]
Howdy! We're relocating from New York City to London at the end of this year, and of course we're taking our cat Olive with us. What we're having a little bit of a hard time with is figuring out just *how* to bring her, and we're hoping you can help us. [more inside]
Asking for a friend: Older American couple is visiting London for the first time. They're having a hard time figuring out travel agencies / DIY internet bookings. Can you make some recommendations? [more inside]
Even though I'm totally broke, I'm going to London for nine days at the end of August. Yes, the most expensive time to go. Plane tickets were bought with miles, and I'm staying with friends-of-friends. This is why I'm able to go at all. But I'd like some tips on how to have a good time while spending as little money as possible in a place I am totally unfamiliar with (and I want to bug my hosts as little as possible, too). Hi London Mefites! I will have time during an extended layover to choose one neighbourhood of your large, international city to eat dinner, wander a little, sleep, and eat breakfast in. Which neighbourhood should I choose? [more inside]
I finally saved up enough flyer miles for a flight to Europe and I am super excited since I've never been. I'm planning on a week in London and then a week in Paris, advice for things to do while I'm there would be much appreciated. [more inside]
As per my previous question, my wife is attending a course in London in June so we are moving from Australia for three months. We were thinking somewhere central initially, but the prices are nuts, so we will probably pick somewhere on the tube line (red or black line). Any suggestions for the seasoned London mefites in this thread that would suit our family of four (me, wife and two preschool boys). For reference, our rent here is equivalent to about 250 - 300 pound a week, but no idea how that compares. my wife would also be okay with up to a 1 hr commute, especially if we live at the start of the line and she can get a seat. Thanks all.
Due to a last-minute work trip and a big difference in plane ticket prices, I have from Thursday evening through to a 2 PM Heathrow departure Monday free to go exploring. Where should I go and what should I do? [more inside]

I will be travelling to the UK this May/June and will be in London on June 3. I have heard that for the Jubilee Pageant on the Thames, some pubs along the river are accepting reservations for tables. It seems like a great way to spend the day - does anyone have any specific recommendations for pubs along the Thames that I might contact?
Have any recommendations of places to stay in East London in June? [more inside]
I've just booked an international trip with a 3/4-day layover on the way home. Great, I think, I can spend some time in the city, get a cheap hotel, see a few friends for dinner and then get some sleep and a shower before my trip home - easy! Problem: after booking the trip, I realize I will be in London during the Olympics, and hotel prices have accordingly skyrocketed. I am on a grad student budget. Help me find a decent place to stay - ideally not in a shared room - that won't kill my budget? [more inside]
On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being "very safe" and with going-to-11 being "the most crazy," how insane is it to try to get into London from Heathrow to do some light sightseeing on my way back home to the US. (I've read the previous questions, but needed some clarification about some of the issues!) [more inside]

3 Days in London, England in April 2012. My wife has never been before. What should we not miss?
Often I want to go from Southampton UK to Islington. The public transportation system in London is awesome! There must be a better way than the white-knuckle drive through the city I currently do... Given that I want to do the first leg of the trip via car, I expect there is somewhere in SW London I can park and take public transportation, and get to Islington relatively quickly (~1 hour) and cheaply. I've played around with Google maps, and there are a bajillion options.... anyone know one that is near optimal? Ideally with free/cheap parking, and outside the congestion fee zone.

I am flying into London Stansted later this week. I'll be meeting a friend who works in Central London, and then driving with them to South Yorkshire. We'd like to meet somewhere in far North London/Beds/Herts that is as least somewhat on the way from Stansted to the M1, probably somewhere off the M25, and ideally a relatively small, uncomplicated town (I haven't driven manual or on the left for a couple of years and this is going to be during rush hour!). It should also be easy to get to on the train from Kings Cross or Euston. I don't know the area, so I'm going by Google Maps at the moment. Our current plan is Potters Bar station. Any better ideas?
