Moving back to the States from the UK and looking for the cheapest way to ship stuff that we won't immediately need to have on our arrival. Since the move is from London to Miami sea freight seems like the best option. We also have some fragile and oddly-shaped art that we'd like to have handled separately (and carefully). I've looked around for quotes from sea cargo specialists, but would appreciate any suggestions for ideas I may have overlooked. [more inside]
A good friend of mine, a London-based ceramics artist, needs to find a way of making her career more financially lucrative. By many measures, she is already successful: she has attained high-profile residencies, is signed to a prestigious gallery, and is critically acclaimed. However, she’s barely making enough money to survive and is starting to question whether it is worth continuing to plough her time into a career that will leave her impoverished. [more inside]
On the South bank of the Thames in 2002 (and maybe still there), there was a structure, like a piece of public art, in which you could place your body and it would support you at a slight angle, enabling a wonderful view while totally relaxed. It was a tilted section of a cylinder, made of dark metal. Does anyone remember/know of this? An image, location, or name of the artist would be wonderful!
I'm an established photographer with a large body of work in travel and performance/event, with a niche in circus arts. I've exhibited in the past, and I'm looking for resources on funding/grants to put on an exhibition in either New York or London. [more inside]

UK Art Supply filter: I'm an artist in New York, ordering supplies for a project that I will be doing in London next week. I'm trying to order online from UK-based websites as much as possible and have the supplies delivered to the work site, rather than shipping from the US. There are a few things that I'm having a hard time finding... particularly certain kinds of tape. [more inside]
Thinking of visiting London and Paris next year...also been getting into pastels so would like to hit up art museums with a good number of quality pastel paintings by Degas, Renoir, etc. (prefer impressionist style). Which museums provide this abundance? I'm thinking the Musée d'Orsay, maybe the Louvre...anywhere else?
Looking for the artist name and exhibit info about a piece I saw at the Tate Modern in London about 2005. It was a scrolling-LED that displayed continuously changing,thought-provoking short quips. [more inside]

Within the past couple of years there was an art installation in London (?) featuring a work that may have been called "Shy Camera." The piece was a security video camera mounted on an arm. When visitors approached, it turned away abruptly. [more inside]
Where can my sister (in London) find or buy dead printed circuit boards for an art project? The larger the better, the cheaper the better, what they used to be doesn't matter.
There's a new art exhibition in London showing works of art taken from people's workplaces, for example, sketches by particle physicists. Unfortunately I can't remember what it's called or anything else about it. Can anyone shed light on this, and if so, have you been to it?
