We recently paid off our mortgage (finally!) and got a Substitution of Trustee and Deed of Reconveyance. Some of the info on it looks confusing and/or wrong. We've called the county recorder's office and Wells Fargo, and the people there said everything is correct, but they didn't seem too sure of themselves it just looks wrong. Here's the part I'm confused about. [more inside]

I am in debt to the tune of about 20,000 in credit card debt. However, I have great credit, (739) which I've finally cleaned up after a horrible year of ID theft. Most of my debt is on one credit card at 12% APR. I make about 35,000 a year, rent, and don't have any equity or a car. At the rate I can afford to pay at this point (450/month) I'll be in debt for about 8 more years. This seems unreasonable. Should I take out a personal loan, sign up for several low APR credit cards that offer no interest for a year, etc... I live off what I make at this point, and look forward to a credit card-free future. Thanks!

I'm selling my home. I have an offer on the table, but my realtor seems a little cautious about it because it's an FHA loan. Should I be concerned about accepting the offer since my home is older? [more inside]

I have a client who has an opportunity to buy into a business, but can't tap into home equity, etc. Are there small business loans that lend to people buying into existing, established companies? Who is good and easy to work with?

A friend of mine is coming in from a couple hours away (each way) for the night (halloween party), and money is tight on her end. I would go pick her up myself, but have to work late into the afternoon and wouldn't have time to drive up and back twice between today and tomorrow. I want to give her the money for gas (I am in a much better position financially), since I know this is a big expense for her and she is saving me the trip, but she is very independent and does not want me reimbursing her. How can I get her to accept it without making damaging her ego or seeming like this is out of pity?
