I have an ASUS G60V laptop. My lcd screen is shattered, and now I need to use a repair CD. Laptop won't boot into external monitor in repair mode, so I can't see the screen. Any ASUS owners be willing to walk me through the BIOS menu steps to see if I can get my laptop to connect to the external?

I accidentally got some soda fall on the LCD screen of my Compaq CQ56 laptop, and seconds later, a
smudge appeared on the lower right side of the screen (everything on that area appears lighter when it is on). It looks like the liquid got inside the screen, and I don't know what to do about it. Can anyone help?

Who in the Dallas, TX area (deliberately vague; I'm willing to drive) can repair my broken laptop AND answer my questions about it, especially how it got that way? Even just "this guy I know" would be perfectly fine; I've learned my lesson about the big-name places.

I own a Lenovo Ideapad Y550. About six months ago, four keys on the keyboard popped off and the “A” and “1” key’s require multiple pressings to type. The audio out port on the laptop also broke. It still works, I just have to either hold or tape my earphones inside or it just come right back out.
Should I just go to best buy or some computer place to have it fixed?

Does anyone have experience repairing the power jack on a laptop? My wife's old (circa 2006) Dell laptop won't charge, due to what seems like a loose power jack connection. I've repair found tutorials, and it doesn't seem that bad, does it? (More details inside)

I have an ancient Thinkpad 570, and the hard drive finally died. Hardware not recognized. I've pulled out the old one (it rattles ominously) and am wondering if I can replace it with a new generic laptop drive, rather than having to go with overpriced proprietary stuff.

I'm looking for a reptable laptop repair shop that handles Gateway/e-machines systems and would attempt to re-solder or replace a broken power jack rather than replacing the entire mainboard. I'm in Tempe, AZ, but a reputable mail-in company would work too.

How can I get my MacBook screen and iSight repaired quickly (by March 6), safely and affordably? I'm in Canada and I do not have AppleCare. The screen cracked and iSight stopped working after I dropped it about a metre, but the laptop is otherwise usable. I'm searching on Google but I would like some recommendations of specific companies.

BSODFilter: I tried to install a RAM upgrade in my girlfriend's Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop, and got nothing on screen after powerup. So I replaced the old DIMM, and got the BSOD -- the file that was missing was a driver for the Intel video adapter. Long story short, it's still not working.

I am trying to replace a laptop keyboard but the final screw has burred and neither the regular or precision screwdriver works. If someone suggests that I go to repairman and 50 bucks to fix this, I am likely to do serious damage to this laptop (namely by throwing it against a wall). Any ideas?

Can this laptop be saved? eMachines M2105 bought refurbished from Tiger Direct outlet near Toronto two years ago (90 day warranty). Recently the power cord developed the "jiggle it to make it work" disease. Only it turns out that it wasn't the cord but the jack inside the computer that had the problem. Now the jack is completely loose from whatever it had been attached to and so the computer doesn't go. While online third-party parts dealers seem to have jacks for just about any other eMachines laptop, no-one seems to have this one. And the official eMachines parts supplier says I need to replace the mainboard (which costs about two-thirds of what I paid for the laptop for the part alone).
