My fiance and I have been together for almost four years. She wants to get married in her home town, probably on the beach in La Jolla. I've never been married before, and neither has she, and I guess what I'm wondering is... What are some resources I can use to estimate the cost and planning necessary?

Help me plan a 3-day trip to Joshua Tree (CA).
Or alternatively, suggest another really cool natural area to check out in Southern California in late January.
I am in my cousin's wedding in the L.A. area and am coming with my girlfriend. We decided to take a few extra days--she's never been to California and I've only ever kept my visits to family time, usually in the OC area.
We're renting a car, so we'll have transportation. Is late January a good time to go? Do you have any recommendations for gear rental (doubt I'll be able to climb, unfortunately)? I have gear at home in Michigan, but I'd like to travel light.
If you have alternative suggestions--they can be around L.A.--I'd love to hear them.
Thanks.

An old friend is visiting my vast metropolitan area and we'd like to meet up for lunch tomorrow. What's a good, infant-friendly spot to grab a bite of lunch, sip a beer (maybe shoot some pool?), somewhere between Yorba Linda, CA and downtown Los Angeles?

Thanks to riding Chicago's L system so often I can sense my stop in my (literal) sleep, I think I'm finally ready to tackle Los Angeles' underutilized & unappreciated
Metro & Metrolink system for some day trips between Ventura County and LA proper. What are some can't miss attractions that are A) easily accessable by rail in a city of cars and B) fairly safe for a tiny semi-lost solo female and C) totally awesome?

From L.A. to Santa Fe and back. By Car, necessarily. Next month. I'm planning a 1.5 day drive, a 3 day stay in Santa Fe (already taken care of, thanks), a 1.5 day drive back to L.A. Where should I sleep en route? I'm thinking Flagstaff, right? Sightseeing in or around Flagstaff? (touristy stuff is OK unless it's something horribily overcrowded or plainly for kids). Is the drive too long/boring? Any better ideas to make the trip more fun? Suggestions? Thanks.

On Tuesday I'm going to find myself with five or six spare hours as I pass through Los Angeles. I haven't really seen L.A. before, so what should I do? What should I see? Where should I eat?
For what it's worth, my hotel will be near LAX on Highway 1.

I have a webserver colocated in Los Angeles, where I live. I am moving to New York in a few months and I'm wondering if I should take the server with me. I have a ridiculously great deal at my current facility. How big of a deal is it to have a server in colocation in a far away location?
(The server has RAID 1 and hot-swap drives, if that helps.)
