Tipping of the 2004 election

What exactly was it in 2004 that suggested in the final weeks that John Kerry was going to win? Case in point here and here (yeah, I know the latter is a Democrat site). Maybe I have selective memory but I thought a lot of pundits had expected a Kerry win. Or did many neutral sources have Bush pegged? If not, what I'm trying to figure out is where the forecast errors were made, and whether these same issues could produce a surprise tomorrow (not counting a "Bradley effect", since that was of course not a factor in 2004).

I'd like to enjoy the musical stylings of one Senator John Kerry's surf-rock band The Electras. I've searched online, but can only find snippets (also here and here). Anyone know where I might be able to hear full-length tracks? Thanks!

HistoryFilter: Odd reference to McCarthy in Kerry's 1971 Senate Testimony. He said: "I realize that we cannot negotiate treaties and I realize that even my visits in Paris, precedents had been set by Senator McCarthy and others, in a sense are on the borderline of private individuals negotiating, et cetera. What was the incident involving McCarthy that set a precedent? The Green's an inappropriate place for politics, so I'm trying to avoid that. I'm just asking for a neutral clue about that single reference.

Straight up: Has John Kerry said what he's going to do about Iraq if he's elected? I'm probably voting for him anyway, but I don't remember what he's said specifically about an end strategy.

Can someone shed some light on Sen. Kerry's previous campaigns?

Last night's debate made me think of something I heard regarding Kerry's senatorial campaign strategy boiling down to banking everything on his endgame (it may have even been in the Blue, but good luck finding that...). Is that true? Can someone shed some light on his previous campaigns?

how to give money to the democrats

I want to give more $$ to the Democrats, but I don't know where to give. If I give to the DNC-how can they use the money now that Kerry has accepted federal money? I've given to Move On already. What other groups are out there? (I especially want to give to someone who is attacking these swift boat a-holes directly on TV. Is anyone doing that?)
